(FULL) F-16 Pilots - 77th Fighter Squadron is Recruiting
knoxtheace posted a topic in Jets Squadrons
Looking for pilots with a good attitude, a humble character, and a strong work ethic. The 77th Fighter Squadron is a new Squadron of Veteran DCS Pilots very well versed in the F-16 (DCS since 2019) currently looking for fellow F-16 Pilots. (US Based Squadron) We are looking for quality of the pilot, over the quantity of pilots. New members will enjoy a mature and enjoyable culture of like-minded simulator and real life pilots. Both owners are real life aviators, one of which was an Air Force Instructor Pilot. No ego's here. Everyone is humble and understands this is a hobby. No yelling or belittling. We come here to enjoy flying and the company of like-minded pilots. Everyone should feel comfortable hanging out in discord whether we're flying or not. We embrace the USAF ranks and awards system, where active participation, loyalty, and performance are recognized! The two owners have non-standard work hours and can be found flying throughout the day or night. However, our official Campaign Missions will be hosted in the evenings typically after 2000 Central Time. What you can expect: 24/7 Training Server Active F-16 Pilots to fly with on any server at nearly anytime Streamlined F-16 Training, modeled after USAF UPT thru B-Course (MQT) Random Fun Missions USAF Culture, Ranks, Awards Combat Campaigns and Missions (2100 to 2200 CT Brief Start) What we expect of you: Minimum age 16 Map: NTTR, Syria, Persian Gulf; Module: F-16 Be able to maintain an Active Status. Active Status is the ability to fly 3 times per month Have a friendly and kind disposition Have a good attitude, a humble character, and a strong work ethic Willing to learn and to teach If this style of play interests you, join our discord and find out more. This is a temporary link, so when you join the server, please send a DM to Lucky or JETT and we'll respond as quick as possible. Thank you for your consideration. (TEMPORARY DISCORD LINK REMOVED) (This is a temporary link, so when you join the server, please send a DM to Lucky or JETT immediately.) -

The map textures are out of anything I see from quality photos (taken from ground/form air). Compare the picture yourselves: Its not a big deal, not a bug, but because of that I feel like something not correct every time I fly a mission on this map. I my say, that I love this map, some more detailed elevation resolution would be very nice, but as long as you not flying low, it doesn't really matter. It seems to me, that someone who took care of NTTR textures has color shifted display tuned for COLD setting. Picture form DCS and Google picture from exact same spot (similar day time): Edited DCS screenshot compare: This is another compare of 60% screenshot with the original one, and small terrain photo in middle.

I was flying the Su25-T under bad weather conditions with rain, cloud base at ~ 2000 meters, 5 a.m. Nevada map Creech AFB, March. Meaning dark, rainy, windy, (yes I know very rare down south). Taxi, runway, takeoff no problem. Off to the first waypoint. Since I'm new and purchased Nevada via the latest sale, I'm not familiar with the topology of the region. So I used the F10 map occasionally. As soon as I switched back to F1 cockpit view, I noticed all of a sudden the waypoint distance increased from where I left off. I was only a few seconds into the F10 map, not that somebody thinks I overshot the waypoint. I think my plane was 10.4 miles out heading towards the first waypoint when it happend. To correct the issue I manually switched to waypoint 2. F10 map again 11 miles out, same thing happened! I saved the track record and will review this evening and I'll report back.

A flyover has been requested by Las Vegas Speedway this weekend and your unit has been tasked with performing the show. Use the ToS/ToT feature and on your jet, communication and timing skills to perform a precise flyover for the National Anthem. This is a great way to train for Time on Target missions, or for those who love airshow flying. - Perform a precise flyover for the National Anthem at Las Vegas Speedway. - Fly either an F-18c or F-16c_50 - Approx. time: 25min (you'll spend about 10-15min holding and turning circles if you get up in the air too fast. This is designed to help people get into formation/position) - Practice holding in a position to wait for the ToT/ToS call. Try to maintain 45-60sec turns. - Fly either A 4-ship formation where your Lead is the only one concerned with ToT/ToS Or fly to separate waypoints and meet up over the center of the stadium at the exact time. - Communicate with your wingmen to deconflict altitude. The stadium already as fireworks and doesn't need more. - Don't rely on the carrot symbol on your HUD, but follow your directed Ground Speed to be more accurate. NOTE: This mission was made using Hasard Lee's youtube video "How Flyovers Work" as reference. I am not an actual pilot. Any comments/suggestions welcome. Thanks!
