SilentGun Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 No. It has the RDI radar which is not compatible with the Mica. You are mistaking with the 2000-5 which is a modernised version of the 2000C. So... what radar guided missile can the 2000 S-5 carry? Link to my Imgur screenshots and motto http://imgur.com/a/Gt7dF One day in DCS... Vipers will fly along side Tomcats... Bugs with Superbugs, Tiffy's with Tornado's, Fulcrums with Flankers and Mirage with Rafales... :)The Future of DCS is a bright one:)
Bidartarra Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 (edited) So... what radar guided missile can the 2000 S-5 carry? Super 530D/F I'd say. Edited August 20, 2015 by Bidartarra
Manuel_108 Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Is that comparable with an R-73? Or the AIM-9?
WinterH Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Is that comparable with an R-73? Or the AIM-9? No, because it is rather comparable to R-27R or AIM-7 :) (assuming you have meant Super 530). The missile that compares to those but carried by Mirage 2000C would be the Matra Magic R550. Magic I for before 1986 scenarios and Magic II for later. Apparently Magic II is comparable to AIM-9M, but Magic I is more along the lines of R-60. 1 Wishlist: F-4E Block 53 +, MiG-27K, Su-17M3 or M4, AH-1F or W circa 80s or early 90s, J35 Draken, Kfir C7, Mirage III/V DCS-Dismounts Script
emg Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Magic II is all-aspect so it's comparable to the AIM-9L, not M :)
Stratos Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Magic II is all-aspect so it's comparable to the AIM-9L, not M :) And what are the differences between the L and the M? I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!
RoflSeal Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 And what are the differences between the L and the M? AIM-9M has a low smoke motor. Both are all-aspect afaik.
Vampyre Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 And what are the differences between the L and the M? Mainly, the 9M has better resistance to IR countermeasures and a low smoke motor. Truly superior pilots are those that use their superior judgment to avoid those situations where they might have to use their superior skills. Ktulu2 Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 (edited) I'm quite sure the 9L is rear aspect...If not Rear aspect must have REALLY been bad lol edit : I went to check on wikipedia(great source I know)...according to it 9L would indeed be all-aspect Which GREATLY surprises me as I NEVER had an head on shot with it! Edited August 22, 2015 by Ktulu2 I do DCS videos on youtube : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAs8VxtXRJHZLnKS4mKunnQ?view_as=public
Vampyre Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 I'm quite sure the 9L is rear aspect...If not Rear aspect must have REALLY been bad lol The 9L is all aspect. It was the first IR Sidewinder with that capability. It gave the RN SHAR's a distinct advantage over the Argentine Mirages in the Falklands. 1 Truly superior pilots are those that use their superior judgment to avoid those situations where they might have to use their superior skills. You mean in DCS? since in DCS we don't have the AIM-9L available. It's AIM-9P and M, former being tail-aspect.
emg Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 (edited) AIM-9M has a low smoke motor. Both are all-aspect afaik. And what are the differences between the L and the M? I had a brainfart, somehow my brain thought the AIM-9M predated the L  I blame alcohol. :drink: Edited August 23, 2015 by emg
Ktulu2 Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 OMG O THOUGH IT WAS THE 9P ... My bad! I do DCS videos on youtube : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAs8VxtXRJHZLnKS4mKunnQ?view_as=public

Nerd1000 Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 speed is in knots, alt is in feet and range is in nmiles. Imperial units on a French aircraft? Is the use of knots, feet and miles a NATO standard or something?
