mathza55.2 Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Hello guys, This is my first post and I need some help sir. As I read from another thread to solve my problem such as Delete temp file, unplug USB, update latest visual c++ or video card driver etc. It still crash. My problem is I got message DCS has stop working after I push "fly" button in campaign, traning, mission, It's first time to install and I install it from Steam so no A-10C and only SU-25T. It's work If I turn off Nvidia video card and swap to use Intel® HD graphic family but it's very very laggy and the graphic is weird. If I turn on Nvidia again it crash. What should I do? thank you in advance sir.dcs.txtme.txt

mathza55.2 Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 My system is Windows 7 64 bit, Intel core i5 2.4 Ghz, Ram 4 GB, Video : Nvidia Geforce GT 540M 1 GB and Intel HD graphic family 1 GB so my video is 2 GB, Direct X 11. sir, As I type sir if I turn on nvidia it say "DCS has stop working" but If I turn off nvidia it will swap to use Intel graphic card automaticly but as you can see in screenshots sir the graphic is weird.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted February 13, 2014 ED Team Posted February 13, 2014 (edited) Try this go into your Nvidia control panel then go to manage 3D settings, hit add then navigate to your DCS.exe file and add it to the list, you can then make it run with either your Intel HD graphics or your GT 540M, make sure it's running the 540M. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1515091&postcount=14 Bare in mind the GT 540M is a little weak for dcs, so play with your options in dcs and reduce the settings Edited February 13, 2014 by BIGNEWY Forum rules - DCS Crashing? mathza55.2 Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 Thanks you for your reply sir, But it still doesn't for me T_T. It's work for some game that has this problem before thank you sir but bad news it's only not work with DCS. Does I have to download the installer and install it manually? Because I download it from steam. Because I Heard that some people got it work by install it as administrator. Because I can't install it as admin by steam.
blackbelter Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Have you tried diabling the intel graphics completely in the bios or in device manager?

You can at the very least try and download the DCS World Installer and see if you can run the base game. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
Home Fries Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 mathza, I noticed that you have 4Gb of RAM listed in your system specs. DCSW 1.2.6 and later requires a minimum of 6Gb RAM. This may be the issue. If you have a copy of DCS World 1.2.5, give that a try and see if you get the same error. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide
SkateZilla Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 My system is Windows 7 64 bit, Intel core i5 2.4 Ghz, Ram 4 GB, Video : Nvidia Geforce GT 540M 1 GB and Intel HD graphic family 1 GB so my video is 2 GB, Direct X 11. sir, As I type sir if I turn on nvidia it say "DCS has stop working" but If I turn off nvidia it will swap to use Intel graphic card automaticly but as you can see in screenshots sir the graphic is weird. Video is 1GB. nVidia 540M has 1GB Dedicated Intel HD has 1GB, that is Shared from your System Ram Both GPUs dont share with each other, so they dont add to make 2GB Using Intel HD, You'll get reversed normals on 3d Models (Like the screenshots above), plus very low FPS and Stuttering due to the HD GFX using 1GB of your System Ram, which on a Laptop is Way slower than GDDR3 let alone GDDR5 (which comes on most Mid-Upper Tier Cards) Using the 540M, You should be able to run everything on Low, And I mean LOW, Low Preset, Low/Off for everything on the GFX List, no AA, No HDR, etc. If it's crashing with the nVidia Discrete GPU Crashing you might need to update drivers. or cooling profile (most laptops default to not have fans spinning until system hits higher temps). mathza55.2 Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 That's mean I have to download 1.2.5 installer and uninstall 1.2.7 from steam right? I heard that my friend also has 4 GB ram but he don't have problem with this. btw I will try to use 1.2.5 sir
Diemos Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Also, in a system that uses hybrid NVidia/Intel graphics, odds are VERY good that the "1 GB" of video RAM is really a shared memory pool with system RAM (read: NOT dedicated), so you may actually have only 3 GB of system RAM available to applications... Not guaranteed by any means, since there are trillions of hardware combinations, but, as I said, VERY likely...

SkateZilla Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Smaller missions would be fine, as you get to larger missions with more going on RAM would be an issue. NVidia GT540M comes in 2 Flavors, the Actual Mobile Card with Dedicated RAM, and the Chip, which is Soldered to the Mainboard and uses the Systems DDR3 Ram. So it depends on the Brand Laptop Mainly, Alienware/Dell uses Cards, Lenovo and other lower Mid Tier Brands put the GPU on the Mainboard and Shares Ram. SkateZilla Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 As your request sir. Have you installed updated nVidia Drivers? Try Forcing the system to use nVidia 540M before you run the DXDIag, as it just shows the 540M as a system device, and doesnt show the driver as loaded. Latest Driver is: Version: 332.21 WHQL Release Date: 2014.1.7 Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit, Windows 8.1 64-bit, Windows 8 64-bit Language: English (US) File Size: 266.00 MB Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
