U2 Nxt mod for Cougar HOTAS

Hi! Guys,

 

Ian has just replied that the pricing "should be close to the old pricing but depends on the current material prices"..

 

FYI, the old pricing are:

 

* “Nxt” is $395 AUD without Hall sensors

* Aluminium Throttle bushes are $87 AUD a pair

* Speedbrake/Dogfight housings are $49 AUD a pair

* Nxt/U2 Springs are $27 AUD a set

* All prices includes postage/shipping

Well I am unsure what is wrong with this thing but it does not work correctly.. I will try and sell but not for the hall sensors Ill just throw them in for free as I don't think they work properly..

Hi all... I also have an Uber NXT2 and love it... But it's been like 8 years since I've flown with it so I need some help to get it going... Does anyone have any good Cougar files for DCS or know where I can get some?

 

Do folks use Digital Foxy 4 or something else to program and load the files, etc...??

TARGET, the same software used for the Warthog, supports the Cougar as well for creating joystick profiles.

my x-gimbal broke today also...

 

i have called thrustmaster germany, but they said, that there were nomore spare parts...

But they would give me 20% on buying an new TM HOTAS Warthog.

Been out of production for many years now but I seriously considered doing another run depending on material prices but there hasn't been the demand to make it worthwhile.

 

Don't know of any flight sim communities still up and running but as said there needs to be the demand before I can go back into production and that means some user interaction to help organise a production run.

Well, somebody who wants it bad enough should poll the various flight-sim communities to see if there's interest and then get back to Ian with the number of interested parties to see if it's viable and how much it would cost then.

This UberNXT MOD for Cougar will cost a new Warthog set... It made sense when Cougar are considered the only "high end" HOTAS (even sold with the worst gimbal used in HOTAS)... :D

The part is called "upper gimbal" and it doesn't seem to have a part number .. mine broke early last year and I wrote Thrustmaster support and they told me at the time that they did have stock on both their canadian and european warehouses.

 

The cost was 53 euros (including shipping to south america)

 

So, I would suggest you to contact them again and ask for them to check the stock on other warehouses, not just Germany's , perhaps you will have luck and get them to find one.

A second alternative, more difficulte than the previous one, is to modify the Cougar using force sensors, following this modding instructions:

The resulting joystick is like the one on a real F-16 ... it barely moves, registering just the force that you exert on the handle ... the beauty of this mod is that it dispenses with the gimbals and pots :)

 

Edit: Sorry, I've just read again the mod instructions and found that it dispensed only with the pots ... the gimbals are still needed, so it isn't really a solution on your case :(
