Snacko Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Is this for IL2 BoS, or DCS? In DCS, have you just tried assigning Rotary 1 to the Zoom Axis? Lenux Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 (edited) Ok, i leave the zoom option for now, but i have another issue. FPS drops. I havent see this with Thrustmaster 16000M. How is that possible ? Is there a fix for this ? By the way : the option ' Synchronize Cockpit Controls with HOTAS Controls at Mission Start ' should remain unchecked ? Does this maybe affect the FPS ? Thank you LE : The option Axis Tune remain greyed out. I cant access it, whatever im doing Edited March 2, 2016 by Lenux I9 12900k@ 5 GHz | 32 GB DDR4 | Asus ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming Wifi d4| RTX 3090 | 6 TB SSD + 8 TB HDD | 4K Samsung Q90R 55" | VKB MK III PRO L | Virpil Throttle MONGOOST-50 | MFG Crosswind | TrackIR5
Snacko Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Joysticks/HOTAS do not ever affect the FPS. This cannot be the problem. If your FPS is good in the cockpit, but bad in External View.. The the first thing to do is go to Settings/System and turn off 'Depth of Field'. This has been a known issue for killing FPS. The Synchronize Cockpit Controls with HOTAS is only for the A10 Warthog hotas. It should be unchecked if you do not have that HOTAS. But it does not make any difference if you have it checked, but do not have that HOTAS. The Axis Tune button is only enabled if you have selected an Axis that you have assigned. For example, in your picture (above) it IS enabled because you have selected JOY_Z for your X-55 Throttle. If you select something else that is not an axis, then it will be disabled. Lenux Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Snacko, do you have the X55? If yes, what do you use for zooming? Could you please try the wheel, rotary 1, for testing? Can you please send me the profile, if you can use the zoom for rotary 1 wheel?? Thanks I9 12900k@ 5 GHz | 32 GB DDR4 | Asus ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming Wifi d4| RTX 3090 | 6 TB SSD + 8 TB HDD | 4K Samsung Q90R 55" | VKB MK III PRO L | Virpil Throttle MONGOOST-50 | MFG Crosswind | TrackIR5
Snacko Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 (edited) What is the problem that you are having with Zoom. I don't understand.. Yes I do have the x55. It depends on the aircraft. I have been flying the Mig21 for the past few months and I have it setup to use my TrackIR Z axis to move my head forward, and I have my Rotary 2 assigned to the zoom like this(see attachment). It is just simple to setup. You do not need any curves or saturation like I have. So, I don't understand what problem you are having.. wilbur81 Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 (edited) HUD/Profiler "has stopped working" Hey, fellas. After a recent Windows (7 Professional) update, whenever I try to launch the HUD software/profiler... I get the dreaded "__ has stopped working" garbage. I've done the classics: uninstall software, plug HOTAS back in, system restore, etc. My X55 is working fine, I'm just unable to use the HUD-programmed speed brake switch, scroll wheel, etc. that I profiled in HUD. Help! Any advice? W81 Edited May 22, 2017 by wilbur81 i7 8700K @ Stock - Win11 64 - 64gb RAM - RTX 3080 12gb OC

Snacko Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 To debug problems I would just eliminate everything I could think of and see if it works. If so, then add them back one at a time and see which one breaks it. Maybe none will break it. Then, you've learned what it's not.. I had a problem over a year ago with Bitdefender's Ransomware protection. I got confused on the window it popped up to let me allow apps to do their thing and accidently blocked them. I didn't know it. And I couldn't figure out why Windows would not load icons on my Taskbar. After I turned everything off, and then on one at a time, I found out that Bitdefender was causing the problem. I looked at it and found the Ransomware list of blocked apps. Fixed it. You never know.. The latest drivers have been used for a long, long time. They should be good. So, it's probably something else. Len62 Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 When Mad Catz still supported the x55 they had a support entry that detailed removing the entries in device manager circled in the photo. All four are mad catz related. Uninstall the drivers and then remove these devices. Then unplug controllers, install driver, and plugin controllers.
BrassEm Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 @ Wilbur81, Can you revert back to a previous restore point prior to the update? I've found this can help sometimes when things goes pear-shaped www.brass-em.com
Mars Exulte Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 As an owner of the SaiTek X-55, I can firmly state that the issue with all of this is the label 'SaiTek' being firmly affixed to our device. That was our first mistake. Second mistake was not immediately returning said device for full refund lol It is a well layed out setup (except for the switches on the throttle box), but it looks much nicer than it really is, and SaiTek support is nonexistent. It's alright, though, I've seen the light (helped along by accidentally snapping the stick off) and joined the glorious VKB clan! Here's hoping they don't suck so bad... I've found this can help sometimes when things goes pear-shaped Thanks for all the responses, guys! Unfortunately, I tried the oldest restore point I could find (and it was actually prior to the update that seemed to be the culprit) and it didn't work. :-( I've tried deleting drivers, reinstalling, etc. and I still instantly get the HUD/Profiler has stopped working popups whenever I try to run the application. I'm wondering if I'm going to have to reinstall windows after cleaning the SSD? As an aside, my handy brother did a rewiring/repair of my X55 throttle (works like a charm now that I don't have all those classic pinched and broken wires inside :-) a couple of months ago. Is it possible that this failure has anything to do with that hardware tweak? I doubt it. i7 8700K @ Stock - Win11 64 - 64gb RAM - RTX 3080 12gb OC

Well, I tried all of this too and the HUD profiling software is still a "stopped working" no-go. :-( Maybe it's worth mentioning that I ran the Windows update initially because I was trying to run the UltraMFCD software and I got the same message. I've tried Firewall on and off, Windows Defender on and off, etc. Nothing seems to work. Again, my X55 is running great, I just have lost the ability to use the HUD-profiled speedbrake switch, scroll wheel, etc. (things that can't be programmed in DCS itself). My problems would be solved if DCS would recognize the X55 scroll wheel and SPDBRK switch on the throttle. i7 8700K @ Stock - Win11 64 - 64gb RAM - RTX 3080 12gb OC
