Rogue Trooper Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Hi All, I guess this is the best place to ask, perhaps input output would have been better.... any how. I am looking for any good quality (or even poor quality) toggle switches on the market that act like the Oil and water radiator toggle switches that are in the Stang: Momentary - Off - Momentary - with a third central on Any suggestions or recommendations would be much appreciated. HP G2 Reverb (Needs upgrading), Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate. set to OpenXR, but Open XR tool kit disabled. DCS: Pixel Density 1.0, Forced IPD at 55 (perceived world size), DLSS setting is quality at 1.0. VR Driver system: I9-9900KS 5Ghz CPU. XI Hero motherboard and RTX 3090 graphics card, 64 gigs Ram, No OC... Everything needs upgrading in this system!. Vaicom user and what a superb freebie it is! Virpil Mongoose T50M3 base & Mongoose CM2 Grip (not set for dead stick), Virpil TCS collective with counterbalance kit (woof woof). Virpil Apache Grip (OMG). MFG pedals with damper upgrade. Total controls Apache MPDs set to virtual Reality height. Simshaker Jet Pro vibration seat.. Uses data from DCS not sound... goodbye VRS.
G00dnight Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 So you want a on(m)--ON--on(m), yes ?. 3 different on's with the center being on all the time yes or no ?. Rogue Trooper Posted April 24, 2014 Author Posted April 24, 2014 (edited) Hi GOODnight, Sorry my bad explanation. The P51 has a toggle switch with "centre off" It then has 3 other positions about the centre off position. Looking at the toggle switch from the top: Toggle up is latched on Toggle centre is the off position. Toggle left is momentary On (hold only) Toggle right is momenttary On (hold only) I can find on(M) - off - on(M) but not with the up latched on. I am hoping to find a P-51 Pit builder that may have found some really nice quality toggles. Whiplash Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I too have wondered where I could find a switch like the ones you describe as well as the 5 position toggle for switching between the bombs and rockets. I devoted a lot of hours of searching and came up empty. I've contemplated designing my own but just opted to substitute the bombs/rocket selector for a rotary switch and a three position switch like the one GOOdnight described with a momentar push button above it to simulate selecting the up or automatic position for the coolent flaps. acemark Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 I too am very interested in this for Black Shark. Look al over closest I found is Called a Gutar switch , Some have 4 positions but its linear travel.I didnt find out if they can even be used as inputs due to the way it must be wired. And Triggerhappy also tryed to make one in his build thread but he didnt post a compleation of it. It was the APU/TURBO GEAR/LEFT ENG/RIGHT ENG. start switch. Greatful for any info. Mark. Abburo Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 (edited) @Whiplash, you will need the followings: - http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=86&products_id=206 as controller - http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=86&products_id=207 - as rotarry button - or you can even use an roatarry encoder (not same s*t as rotary button :)) http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=75&products_id=191 This rottary button with this controller needs only two wires to connect (1 board input). Is slightly differrent than a normal rotarry button with a pair of conections for each position. The rotarry encoder will ocuppy two inputs unlike the rotarry button. I found Leo's goods having a high grade quality. Edited April 25, 2014 by Abburo Romanian Community for DCS World HW Specs: AMD 7900X, 64GB RAM, RTX 4090, HOTAS Virpil, MFG, CLS-E, custom
Abburo Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 @Rogue Trooper. I did not find either a button like ON-ON-ON but I found a much better solution within LUA files (thanks to this community). Use he example here http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2032122 and apply it to your "left" and "right" positions . The OFF centre of your button will work as intended. If you want free samples of toggle switches or buttons, etc, Check out http://www.TE.com you can request free samples. I have gotten a lot of my toggle switches and rotary switches from that site and they 2 day fedex it to you with our charging a dime! Rogue Trooper Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 Thanks for the reply and info guys, very useful. At the moment most of my time is spent researching and ordering "nice" sample push buttons as well as researching controller boards. I will look into this toggle switch more thoroughly. I think P51s radiator toggle switch could be very useful for all the modules, especially the older modules with their simpler input bindings.
