spy software
Hi guys, I attached the first version of an 11 mission Huey campaign I put together. I hope that people will be able to test fly it, and provide me with constructive feedback and bug reports. Campaign includes: - simple weapons training - employing Huey as fire fighter - flight qualification test - troop insertion by fast rope technique - low visibility flying - dropping sling load on speeding ship - airmobile assault mission - CSAR mission - strafing of a truck convoy - inserting MANPADs unit into strategic front line location - complex final mission How to install. Copy zip file into the same file location as Belsimtek's UN pilot campaign (on my computer "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\Uh-1H\Missions\EN\Campaigns"). Unzip it. Then you should be able to fly the campaign the same way as you fly the UN pilot campaign. Its nice source of information about the campaign. Yurgon
I started flying the campaign today and have just finished the "Fast and Furious" mission. Having a great time so far, awesome job with the campaign! A small note regarding "Fast and Furious": I think it would be nice if the Enfield flight waited for Springfield to take off, or maybe even wait until the player gave him a radio call. I screwed up my engine start and then had to hurry in order to catch up with the Gunship. I think it would make more sense if both choppers took off together. DSPALLASVI
Flew second mission last night ("employing Huey as fire fighter, Liquidator.miz") and felt very good when was told fire was under control.... Mission Success  Flew around the area for a while afterwards.... ... flew back to nuclear reactor and happened to see another explosion. Then message in top right of screen: "Reactor exploded and lots of radio activity has escaped. MISSION FAILED" :( Noted that after closing the campaign (exit), and re-opening campaign, it DID recognize the fire-fighting mission as a success, and now am ready for third mission. No complaints, just wanted to note something that I noticed in the second mission.. Haven't progressed further yet, will do that soon :) Q: Do the other missions have possibility to make mission starts with 'cold-start', or all 'hot-start'? Love this campaign!! :) ASUS Sabertooth X79 TUF Motherboard / Intel Core i7-3930K Unlocked Processor Six Core / Corsair CMP32GX3M4X1600C10 Dominator Memory Kit - 32GB (4x 8GB) / OCZ Solid 3 480GB Solid State Drive / EVGA GeForce GTX 670 FTW+ / Corsair CW-9060002-WW Hydro H70 CORE CPU Cooler / Seagate ST1000DM003 1TB Hard Drive / BenQ XL2420TX 24" Widescreen LED Gaming Monitor - 1920 x 1080 / Windows 7 Ultimate Edition, 64-bit / C-Tek 12-bit: Foot Pedals - Robinson Cyclic - 5-button-hat cyclic - Collective / TrackIR-

Yurgon
I will take a look at this tonight. IIRC I actually have a holding loop in the mission that should make the Gunship wait for you, but maybe it doesn't work as intended... Could be it's a misunderstanding. I think I caught up to the Gunship near the coast-line where he was flying a left hand turn, although the new heading would have meant a right-hand turn. If that's his holding point, then it works as intended. :) I just think it would look better if the two helicopters both took off at the same time, but I'm not sure how much work that would be in terms of triggers and scripts as compared to a holding pattern. In any case, it's good to know the Gunship won't go all the way to the target area while I try to figure out how I screwed up my engine start procedure this time. :music_whistling:
efarey
I am having an issue with the "decent" commands. I see the option comes up in the communications menu but it doesn't do anything when I hit F7. I see the option comes up in the communications menu but it doesn't do anything when I hit F7. I can't pick up the troops in the first mission due to this. What am I missing? Hi, If hitting F7 really doesn't do anything at all, that must mean you don't have your keyboard commands set up properly. Does anything happen if you hit any other menu items in the communications menu? (like F10). I think as soon as "decent" appears in your menu, DCS world has created submenus for it. Normally you should see the option "smoke marker" or something like this (usually F3). If you hit this, the pickup group should mark its position. Once you landed within 200m of the pickup group, a new submenu should appear, allowing the group to embark on your chopper. efarey
Strange part is that I got it to come up once. All of the other F# commands are working side from F7. I was playing around with the PVT - INT - 1-2-3-4 dial and it came up once. The troops got in but couldn't get them out at the final destination. Had same issue with the fast rope mission. couldn't get the decent menu to open when it was time to pick up the SF troops. Should I be able to go into the decent menu as soon as it shows up or do I have to wait until I am next to the troops? I practically landed on them in the first mission and it still wouldn't expand. Hi, I attached two tracks, one for the New Arrival mission, one for Fast and Furious. The tracks show how I flew the mission, and how the "decent" menu is intended to work. Maybe looking at the tracks can help narrow down your problem. I can also send you .ogv movies of the two missions, but they are low-res and large files. So, if the .trk files work for you, that's easier.Fast and Furious.zipNew Arrival.zip [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Intel Core I7 4820K @4.3 GHz, Asus P9X79 motherboard, 16 GB RAM @ 933 MHz, NVidia GTX 1070 with 8 GB VRAM, Windows 10 Pro

Yurgon
Gunships typically take off and hit the battlefield before the slicks arrive to cool off the LZ. I guess it depends on the scenario and the mission planner's intentions. I'm not quite sure what the gunship did in this mission. As I remember it, the gunship just flew all across town while I dropped off the troops on a rooftop. So without an LZ to hammer prior to landing, it would make more sense for him to cover my slick while I deploy troops instead of alerting every wanna-be terrorist to our arrival by poking holes in the sky minutes before I'm even there. :) But even in a Vietnam scenario, I think the gunships didn't usually arrive way ahead of the slicks, because they could never be sure they'd hit all of the enemy troops, so basically their job was to keep the enemy's heads down, which meant rocket runs prior to drop-off and possibly gun-runs while the slicks were most vulnerable. But most of all my comment was aimed at the fact that I had to rejoin with the gunship that I was supposed to follow. Seeing as we're supposed to fly along together, I think it doesn't make much sense for the gunship to just fly off in the first place. The mission area was pretty small in that mission, so it's not a big deal. I just think it would be nicer if the gunship waited for the player, and if it's a minor edit, I think that would add a nice additional touch to an already good mission. Edited May 23, 2014 by Yurgon Typo

They wont be able to keep up with you if they are weighed down with weapons. You get either a gunship to prep the LZ (rockets and miniguns), or a gunship as an escort (gunship with doorgunners only), or CAS. You really shouldnt load an aircraft with 4 miniguns and rocket pods if you want to take off.

Hmm, let me see... - The Gunship in question is an AH-1W without external weapons - I didn't load anything with weapons, the mission creator did I kinda think we're not on the same page any longer. :music_whistling: And while I don't necessarily disagree with you, I think that you're talking about stuff that has little to do with my request towards wolle. So we should either get back on topic or maybe start a new discussion in "Missions and Campaigns" or "Military and Aviation". :smilewink:
DSPALLASVI
Crazy Horse Campaign... Wolle, Just a little note; Last night flew the "flight qualification test" of the Crazy Horse Campaign! Very enjoyable! It took some time to figure out why initially I wasn't seeing the 'CargoCam' or why the Cargo-Net in the 'cargo-part' wouldn't hook-up, even after hovering over it at 10ft for a whole minute ;-), but all worked out in the end! The 'formation flying' is a nice touch!! :) These different tasks make it challenging and fun to work away at the campaign. An aside; Just figured out why DCS (and flying the Huey for me in particular) is so much more rewarding then flying in X-Plane or MSFS; at least we have a purpose, with missions and campaigns like yours, to fly to and fro places, and to test our skills in various ways! I didn't think of the radio command, I was just hovering until my nerves were shot then came over to the forum to see what I was doing wrong. I'm loving this campaign so far, I think it should be included with the Huey module. Really great job!
