Installing Tango?

 

Hi Upuaut,

 

thanks for your great mods. They really add to the DCS helicopter experience. I hope ED will add them to the standard game.

 

My question is: I would like to try your Tango mod, and I have followed the installation instructions (a tech folder in the Mods folder), but it is not working.

 

I wonder whether your Tango installation instructions are from before the 1.5 beta, because there was no tech folder present in the mods folder. Could you help me install the tango ships?

Simply create a Tech folder inside Mods and drop the content of the mod unzipped inside.

Thank you Esac, but that's what I did. At least I made a JSGME folder with _Mods\Tango\Mods\tech and then activated the Tango mod.

 

OK, second attempt. I copied the tech folder into the mod folder directly as advised. The tech folder contains the folder Shapes and Textures as well as three lua files charly, entry and tango. However, the units do not show up in the mission editor (I checked not only ships, but also structures and all other object categories). Mmm not sure what's going wrong.

Hi,

 

create a Folder (e.g. Tango) in the tech folder and move the files (shapes, textures, and lua-files) to this folder.

The folder structure is yourDCSFolder/Mods/tech/Tango.

New smoke effects

 

The models really benefit from the new beta with extra smoke effects.

 

Bloody hell, they are difficult to land on. Took me three crashes. It only fits in the longitudinal direction. Great fun. Thanks Upuat and Esac.

 

I had never heard about these boats before coming across your model, Upuat. Amazing the effort the US army put into the Vietnam war, and all for nothing in the end (and at what terrible loss of human life).

Under DCS wolrd1.5 all is OK but not under DCS 2.0. whereas the installation is the same.

 

In autoexec.cfg is in the first:

 

table.insert (options.graphics.VFSTexturePaths, “F: Jeux/DCS World OpenBeta/Bazar/World/textures/staddons”)

 

and in the second:

 

table.insert (options.graphics.VFSTexturePaths, “F: Jeux/DCS World OpenAlpha/Bazaar/World/textures/staddons”)

 

But in DCS World 2.0 do not appear the structures, whereas the cargos and the hospital appear well.

 

Of course, I downloaded the last versions.

 

Why in your opinion. Thank you.

did you make a copy-paste of the line from your autoexec.cfg, because it is something missing?

 

Try this line:

table.insert(options.graphics.VFSTexturePaths, "F:/Jeux/DCS World OpenBeta/Bazar/World/textures/staddons")

 

Also check if the folder name "DCS World OpenBeta" is correct.

My DCS2.0 uses the folder "DCS World 2 OpenAlpha".

It is possible to unpack the folder "staddons" in folder "TempTextures" DCS World OpenBeta/Bazar/ TempTextures/. Textures will work.

DCS World 2 is OpenAlpha and DCS World 1.5 is OpenBeta. All is OK in DCS World 1.5 !

 

I have unpack the folder "staddons" in folder "TempTextures" DCS World OpenBeta/Bazar/ TempTextures/. Without effect.

 

Here a copy of the screens autoexec.cfg of the two programs.

Hi Upuaut. I found a problem with freights. There is a damage of the helicopter when you take long freight on a short cable. If the cable is shorter than freight length, the helicopter is damaged. If you take long freight on a long cable, problems are not present. Two cables turn out on a photo. The helicopter is damaged by a cable from freight.

There is still a problem! Freights farms, logs, pipes always in flight go across the direction of flight. Our freight always has one direction and when the helicopter changes the direction, the direction of freight remains invariable. Whether it is possible to correct it? Freight has to be across flight.

Freight across flight always holds an air stream.

you are right, the cargo doesn't rotate with the helicopter. This is something I can not change, otherwise I would have added a fin to the long cargo.

If anyone who use this mod for DCs 2.0 could make a test plase...

 

Latest Cargo Mod version, tested in DCS 2.0 with Nevada.

 

For me is causing a consistent crash when both player and IA are ejecting. At the very first second the ejection sequency is started a DCS crash happens.

 

Could someone confirm please?

I´ve created a simple guide to recognize cargos. There are many cargos and me and my friends didn´t know cargo names. So here is it.
