Oh dear... even the Brazilian fans now cheer for Germany. I feel really bad for.those players, since most of them aren't even _that_ bad. The Germans are just that good today.

I hope they can restore their reputation in the game for 3rd place. Their press will rip them apart in tomorrow's newspapers.

EDIT: please Hans, calm down a bit, it would be a pity if the mods had to close this thread. we're having so much fun here.

Germany - Argentina would be a great final, but I hope for team orange to succeed tomorrow.

I'll take everyone over Netherland. Their game just sucks ATM-high pass to Robben and he does his penalty routine, it's a disgrace that they got this far with their uninspired tactics.

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

Come let's eat grandpa!

Im not brazillian but the scale of this fail has made me feel butt-hurt from 7000Km away. That's gotta be a record of quantum entanglement.

True, but Argentina didn't show A-game either.

PS: I think you also forgot that Robben should have gotten a penalty in the first half against Mexico, and several unfair penalties were given against Holland in the group matches. It evens out ...

Either way, Robben is an amazing player to watch (and not because of his "Schwalbes") when he's into the game. And remember Maradona's "Hand of God"?

That pressure on the Brazilians was extreme. Perhaps that was one of the reasons. You can see it in their faces, and hear it in their interviews. For them it was not just a Football game. And that's why I feel really sorry for them.

As for the next game: I hope for Argentina as our opponent. The Netherlands are hard to play against. They have shown good results almost in the whole tournament.

I guess it will be 2:1 for Oranje, I'm pretty sure they are the more effective team.

But for them Argentina is an "Angstgegner" (feared enemy). They're a well-knit group though, and Van Gaal seems to have his tactics spot-on.

Brazil was bleeding in the water for a while. Small wounds with big consequences. As opposed to the Germany side who saw everything falling in the right place all the time.

OMFG ROFL! 7:1 was an unexpected outcome, to say the least. :megalol:

As with France, I think the German team can defeat both Argentina and the Netherlands. I seriously doubt it'll be another 7:1, but if they play as well as today (and against France), it's absolutely doable.

Besides, half the guys play with or against Robben in Bundesliga, they should know how to keep him away from the goal, and IIRC the last worldcup game against Messi didn't see him too happy afterwards. :)

True, but Argentina didn't show A-game either.

That is because his teammates depended way too much on Messi. Against Switzerland, he mostly just walked around not gone after the ball and I wondered if he was just sick of it. He played only when the ball came to him for most of the match. I saw the burden taken off of Messi against Belgium though. Still, he's that good. When he wants a goal the man just go and get it. He scored four and gave away one in this cup. Amazing.

ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
