Does anyone know how to get XFire to detect DCS World?

I need, I need, I need... What about my wants? QuickSilver original.

Whoaaa,

Ya mean that any computer with xfire set up for its video will not run DCS World? The machine I was going to go ahead and install all my ED software on has two cards in x fire......glad I waited if this is true.

XFire is not CrossFire.

XFire is a gaming logging/chat application.

Crossfire is the AMD video related service (which DCS does support, I think).

AFAIK, Crossfire does not work with DCS World, Nvidia SLI does though I believe.

I was speaking of AMD crossfire....when I saw "X-Fire", I assumed they where meaning "Crossfire"....which to the best of my knowledge, does not work in DCS....

....My Bad...

It only takes two things to fly, Airspeed and Money.

The catch 22. In a different post I stated I was tired of waiting and wanted to fly as I had not installed any of my DCS software on my new computer since it would require Edge to run correctly...I was encouraged to just install it on my other computer and have fun.....LOL...my other computer has a cross fire installation....will keep waiting as my new computer slowly turns into a poor substitute for a newer game console.

Why did you buy the parts way before you had any intention of using them?

All you have to do is turn it off.. You can still run DCS World, just not with both video cards..

??

CRAP: Replied to the wrong post... Well anyway, just turn it off...

As for the question about Xfire and how does this warrant replies about video cards..

You are aware that there is an option to use multiple AMD video cards at the same time for better performance, right?

I dont see why Xfire would not work with DCS, however, speaking from experience, AMD Crossfire DOES NOT work with DCS. Thats why I now have a GTX 770, used to have 2x6950's and performance was worse with Crossfire than it was with single card.

AMD Ryzen 9 3900x, 64GB DDR 4, MSI Ventus 2070 Super, Samsung 970 M.2 NVMe, WD Blue 512GB SSD, TM Warthog, CH Pro Pedals, Acer AH101 WMR

Yes I am quite aware thanks for pointing that out, did you read WHY I stated that? Please read the entire thread before responding with Captain Obvious statements.. Personally, I think the guy asking the question was being smug and knew EXACTLY why the topic went as it did and I was calling him on it... Not sure why you felt the need to respond at all especially when you didn't bother to read the thread in the first place.

XFire is a common abbreviation for CrossFire which is AMD Multi-GPU technology similar to nVidia's SLI.

Drop the attitude. I read the entire thread. I also understand the topic creator's confusion regarding everyone discussing something unrelated to the topic. I think you are reading the situation incorrectly. TC didn't ask why DCS wasn't detecting XFire, he was asking why XFire wasn't detecting DCS. If he were asking about Crossfire, the question would be "Does anyone know how to get DCS World to detect Crossfire?"

I have been using Crossfire for years. I have never used "XFire" as an abbreviation for it, and don't ever recall seeing anyone else use it either.

Xfire (not Crossfire) jumped the shark as soon as it was sold to MTV. The original Xfire devs developed Raptr, which does detect DCS World (albeit the Steam Version) and has community pages for DCS World and many of the modules.

EDIT: Ironically, Raptr was purchased by AMD, so now we have the 6DOS with the videocard as well. :megalol:

You can mod Raptrs JSON database to detect multiple versions of DCS.

I have 2 entries 1 for ED DCS and one for ED DCS Beta install, both count towards by DCS World Playtime.

I was not being smug. I am aware of SLI and Crossfire however, like Harzach, I have NEVER seen it abbreviated as XFire. Never. I am not saying that it has not, I have just never personally seen it.

Let me know what you find out, I have used Xfire myself many moons ago. If not request them to add DCS World! Their team works really hard to add all games, I suppose no one requested DCSW from them yet.

Some people don't know, but great thing about Xfire it was "out-of-DRM experience ala Steam", and you could see what your friends are playing and join directly to their servers. Also, if game was "full-screen" only, you could still bring it on top and chat. Since Xfire inception in 2003 it still is being developed and has over 20milion users and over 2000 games supported. Although it was never really a lobby dedicated for flight sims I believe, it did list DCS:BS1 http://social.xfire.com/games/dcsbs

XFire is a Common Abbrv. for it on Overclocking sites.

Cross (And X is a Cross) Fire, so XFire.

Example: http://www.overclock.net/newsearch?search=Xfire

That being said, I remember using the XFire before when I was in Clans and stuff for GhostRecon/Rainbow Six.
