Tell me who can I contact for this model of carrier

Posted
wouldn't be surprised if the current CVN Model/data LUA/DLLs/Scripts were not correctly setup for user Landing / interaction.

I think this is true...

But, If anyone does find out then I would very much like to know...

It's probably something todo with the way planes contact the ground.

The A10-C can probably land but the A10-a can not.

I just wish there was a fix. I'm flying around in my F-18F and I'm anxious to land on an American Carrier for once. The Admiral Kuznetsov isn't cutting it for me.

The F-86 can touch the carrier because it's a DCS plane. Just the FC planes can not due to the way the connectors are used.

VFA-113 repainted the Kuz with a US flight deck, if you're interested I could upload it to DCS User files. We call it CV-113 'USS Intrepid'.

It also solves the issue of catapults not working (ski-jump) and you also get a working meatball which is nice.

We use it to learn CQ, it takes a long time to learn the correct pattern for Case 1 and be able to fly it consistently with the proper numbers.

The USS Carl Vinson in game let's you know if you made a successful trap in MP by showing the "pilot landed at USS Carl Vinson" message even though the aircraft bounces back into the air. If you don't see the message it wasn't a landing.

It's nice to stop though! :)

Hey Yar, which mods do you use to fly the F18?

And thanks for sharing the "CV-113 USS Intrepid"!

Btw I saw the following about the checkride on your website:

To become a Stinger you must pass the entire checkride and return safely to NAS Lemoore.

You will begin on the Lemoore ramp with engines off. Your F/A-18C will be armed with 2 x AIM-9M and 4 x Mk84 and a centreline Fuel Tank.

Do you use FSX for that purpose?

Landing on the nimitz was possible. With SU-33 and flyable F-18.

Then in 1.2.7 the aircraft would explode except...if you actually touched down on area where cables where under 160 knots, you could catch cable and land.

Then came along 1.2.8 and same deal, if you touch in cables you were fine, except now cables didn't stop the aircraft so every landing was a go-around.

In 1.2.9, touching cables makes you bounce up 100 meters to sky

I just wish there was a fix. I'm flying around in my F-18F and I'm anxious to land on an American Carrier for once. The Admiral Kuznetsov isn't cutting it for me.

Last year there was a DCS F-18 mod (without weapons) I added to my DCSW copy (separate directory) I use for mods. I landed the F-18 on the DCSW MP "Virtual_Aerobatics" squad's server. That squad's MP server had a USA carrier and I could land on it, no problem. The Cat did not work like the one in FSX. We had a patch update and it did not work any longer; maybe they updated the mod.

http://www.virtual-aerobatics.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1060

Before DCSW, FC2 had a mod by a New Zealand fellow that worked fine. He was landing his FC2 : F-14 and F-18 mods on the US carrier. How he did it is in the Mod forums archive. He modded the scripts. The Stallturn mod for FC2 no longer exists on his web-page, well, my link does not work.

I have not updated my mods since the last 2 patch updates and I am not going to. It is an endless game of catchup.

VRS has a nice working F/A-18 that works just fine. I can fly an ILS approach right to the deck.

Google it. Good MP squads exist to fly with.

This guy's crew is second to none:

Think I saw somewhere the DCS F/A-18 is scheduled for beta sometime 2016. I can wait.

I can fly the DCS Su-33 in autopilot and land it on the Russian boat's deck or do it manually. I found landing in autopilot I could not reset for takeoff. So just before coming on board at the trap in autopilot, I went to manual trap about 100 yards back of the boat. Then I could do a Cat takeoff.

Unless you fly with JAR's crew, messing around with the DCS naval mods is a pointless waste of time. I know this, because I did it. I flew Moa's FC2 mod, not JARs.

But, have fun.
