Fod doors SU27

Is it possible when a SU27 is parked, that one fod door is lowered and the other raised (maybe one engine just running?)

Yes it is possible, in fact I think its part of the standard startup sequence to start the engines one after another.

No. You would need to get out, then climb into the MiG29 parked next to it first.... ;)

it was part off the design in the mig to take off from roads

dirt strips, the doors was a way off keeping out debris

into the fan blades.....

The Flanker has internal FOD screens that lower into the intake to block debris.

In flanker you had those nice cheese grater FOD screens on the Su-27, but in lomac they were removed for no reason :(

True, there is no FOD moddled in lomac, but the doors should be there.

When the first is started up and has been running good for a while and you don't think there's a problem with it. :D

From the Su-27 Flight Manual:

Разрешается при необходимости выполнять запуск одновременно двух двигателей одновременным или последовательным нажатием кнопок ЗАПУСК ЛЕВ и ЗАПУСК ПРАВ.

 

Translation:

"If necessary, it is permitted to start both engines simultaneously, pressing consecutively START LEFT and START RIGHT buttons"

That's for scramble situations offcource, hence the "when the need arises". Still don't understand why ED removed the FOD fences on the Su-27 series, the mig-25 has FOD fences in lomac, but the flyables don't. :p

So when the engine is off the mesh doors are open, en when starting up they will close, if i am right?

If weight on wheels, when the engine is on they are down. Once weight is off the wheels, and when the engine is off they move up out of the way.

Why did teh devs remove them from the su-27, while retaining them on the Mig-25? Just puzzling, the su27 ingame does animate the suction doors at high AoA.
