MACADEMIC
Perhaps you'll put some context to your poll question? What change it is you're asking about? I don't think anyone has disputed the music itself is nice and athmospheric. Some just don't like the mixed in garbled speeches of certain war criminals and 'Sieg Heil' cheers. The tune would do a better job without those for its purpose, in my opinion. That's all. MAC

eurofor
Don't change it. It really gives the feeling of the desperate time at the end of the war when the Dora was sent up to fend off swarms of bombers and fighters. The unintelligible speech adds to the overall feeling. Hans-Joachim Marseille
Jeez ... the last thing this world needs is more censorship. Having a poll about the music was the last thing I expected of this release. What's next, my avatar?

Belphe
With all do respect to those that feel offended by the words in the song (which BTW at first I could neither hear nor understand [yes, I know what they mean - thanks, google translate]), I think that: 1. history mustn't be forgotten 2. bad decisions shouldn't be repeated 3. everybody deserves a second chance 4. no one is responsible for the sins of their forefathers 5. a WWII aircraft in (an upcoming) WWII sim is allowed grim bits from it's era After all, as flight enthusiasts all we should care about is flight... Wichid
The soundtrack does a great job at reflecting the mood. It sounds like it was written by Fascism itself. I vote don't change it. PE_Tigar
I've voted don't care (because I have music turned off) but now I've listened to it it sounds good. BTW, while we're at it, shouldn't we have German radio calls with it too? Would make sense to do them now, because DCS:WWII will need them anyway... Aginor
As I brought this up in the other thread I think I should clarify something here: I respect the composer's decision to put it in, and no, I am not in favor of censorship. I just don't think it is censorship to change it. Censorship is leaving the swastikas out. I feel offended by that, not because I like swastikas but because I like accuracy and censorship laws are not acceptable. The music is not the content of the game, realistic planes are. I understand ED can't change the markings because use of those laws in some countries, so I grudgingly accept that. I am used to it anyway. And after all: Those who don't like to listen to the music including the speech can just use another wallpaper. I won't turn the music off because I love all the other music. If there is another version without the speech, I'll prefer that one. But I won't demand to change it. I just asked to think about it and decide. Whatever will be decided I'll be happy with it. And I know this isn't the topic of the debate, but for me the best music is one that sounds like from that time and culture. Maybe songs like the ones pilots used to listen to in their time off. That's why I love the F-86 music and the Huey music. I can understand that most people don't want to listen to music sounding like one of those songs though: http://germancharts.com/showitem.asp?titel=Das+waren+Schlager+1944&cat=a DCSW weapons cheat sheet speed cheat sheet
Sceptre
I voted no because I feel the need to have the Simulator in as much historical context as possible, as accuracy is very important to me. I'm waiting eagerly for a "Hakenkreuz" (Swastika) mod for the Dora :) RTX 2070 8GB | 32GB DDR4 2666 RAM | AMD Ryzen 5 3600 4.2Ghz | Asrock X570 | CH Fighterstick/Pro Throttle | TM MFDs | TrackIR

MACADEMIC
For Aginor and others who dont like speech FX: I've made "clean" version of this music. You can download it from our site: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/772149/ And just copy it in your DCSWorld folder. Much better. Great theme. This should in my opinion have been the default version, and the only one. Even if the poll here now says differently, the DCS FW190-D9 has (and wants to have) a much wider reach than will ever be reflected in the opinions you hear on a forum. I can't see how the elements in question help in any way enhance the music, or the product. Just stirs up unnecessary arguments that distract from a great simulation. Aginor
Well, while I prefer the altered version I understand that people do find the original version creating an interesting mood and fitting. I am glad this hasn't become a huge argument (I feared it would become a flame thread, which was one reason why I hesitated to post it publicly), it isn't a big deal after all, just a minor gripe by a few people.
