ADF on A10C

Is there any sign that the ADF functionality will ever be included with the sim? I know it's a bit late in the day for new features but it does seem to be a bit of a fail not including it.

 

It could make for some nice situations.

 

ALSO, as it is already included in UH1, it wouldn't be too much work as the beacons are already present on the map

The A-10 does not have the capability to use ADF navigation beacons (NDBs).

 

The ADF function in the A-10 is solely for the UHF & VHF/FM radios and is used for CSAR operations (locating downed pilots by moving in on their survival radios).

I tried to use A-10C for CSAR and it did not work. The only things that worked were lamps UHF and FM. Does ADF work now?

Last time I used this feature (1.2.8) it was still working. That is for UHF. VHF/FM should work, but is - for whatever the reason - not implemented in DCS.

I can confirm this. ADF with the UHF radio works.

Hi guys, sorry to revive this old thread but I was wondering if the FM homing is working now as it is a major functionality to locate downed pilots.

 

Also, the manual says that nor the UHF and FM homing are functional so I was wondering why the UHF works, (it does, right?).

Yup UHF homing definitely works.

I could not get UHF to work... I dont even listen to the broadcast file when tunning the radio I set in the ME.

Ok, I got it to work but there is a bug. UHF is AM so the ground unit should be transmitting in for example 255 AM but it doesnt work that way. It only works if you set it at 255 FM...

 

Should I post this in the bug forum?

I just tried on 252 AM and it works... lol! Have no idea what's going on... any?

I've had it work in AM on UHF with the beacons from the CTLD script. I've tried VHF FM but although the FM light appears, I've not been able to home consistently to it.

yeah, it seems it works only for UHF... i tried several more times and it appears to work on both FM and AM modulations.

 

Very very sad to find out that the FM doesnt work :(

 

Such a basic feature for CSAR not implemented.

Hey guys, I never actually played with it - to have it implemented for the UHF radio in a mission, do you have to use a script or can the baeacon be added via trigger?

It can be added as a trigger or a ground unit can transmit it as well

So not true... csar can be either and even satcom. so the "probably use uhf" is totally wrong as a statement.

Did some testing yesterday, only UHF radio works, but what is important, it DOES work for A-10C :) contrary to what the manual says.
