If you change anything in the core, you risk breaking IC. And because we can't save certain things in Saved Games, like position of the Controls Indicator and other non advantageous settings, they need to be changed in the core. I might be wrong, while I do believe the position of the kneeboard was supposed to be saved when they changed it a few years back. Like the IFLOLS.

Kneeboard builder 1.9.1.1 builds kneeboards for the AH-64D_BLK_II in a folder named AH-64D. As such, the kneeboards do not show up in the aircraft. I can copy the contents of the created folder into the correct folder but that is a bit of a pain. Surely, I'm not the only one with this problem. Any solutions? I have tried several search combinations without success.

Kneeboard Builder is not starting for me when I click on the .exe.

I've downloaded the latest version (1.9.1.1) and tried extracting the .zip contents to my desktop, my downloads folder, and also on the separate SSD drive on which DCS is installed.  I've tried running as an administrator.   I verified I've met its requirements; I am running Windows 11 64-bit 23H2 and my .NET Framework version is 4.8.9032 according to Properties Details tab in the Accessibility.dll found in my Windows/Microsoft.NET folder.

I get no error messages; when I double click on the .exe it seems to start and shutdown right away or disappear without giving an error message.   I found some online help that talks about ensuring the correct paths for the DCS install folder and Saved Games folder in a file called "KneeboardBuilder.exe.Config" but this file doesn't exist.   For kicks I created one, and inserted the lines:

   <appSettings>
       <add key="DCSpath" value="F:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\" />
       <add key="SavedGamesPath" value="C:\Users\terry\Saved Games" />
   </appSettings>

but this doesn't appear to help.

What can I try next?  Thanks for any help!

I am unable to get this to work for the corsair, does the app need an update to support new aircraft? it crashes when I try to create a new folder.  Creating the folder manually also does not seem to work (doesnt show up in the UI)

I think that in order for it to work is to deactivate the Corsair module if you have it. If you're trying to make a kneeboard for the corsair, you'll have to do it manually and then click-drag from one aircraft to the corsair.

Yes, unfortunately the developer of this App has not yet fixed this. As a workaround, I generated the kneeboard files using a "stand-in" aircraft, on my case the A-10A which I'm not flying, and then copied the files manually using windows, to the proper folders for both the F4U-1 and the F4U-1D_CW
