Good solid drivers so far, runs DCS and Arma 3 superbly - i have noticed slightly higher GPU temps however, i am hoping the driver is making my card work harder for better FPS :)

Thx for heads up, i also see the thread Asder00 started over at guru3d :)

I'll give these a quick test, will try injecting the atiumd64.dll into bin folder first and compare versus 14.8 RC3 (14.8 d3d is 9.14.10.01044 vs the new 14.x which is 9.14.10.01061)

I wonder if the injection method works for the Embedded EDM Viewer.

That way I can just export a huge EDM Scene with Multiple objects, purposely to bog down the FPS and Test Differences there :)

It seems there is a small increase over the 14.8s, i've ran a fast test with the .dll and i see at least an extra 1-2 FPS - i just jump into an F-15 cockpit and immediately pause and look straight forward, it would always be 46 FPS before and as soon as i drop the atiumd64.dll in it sits at 48, i can reproduce results everytime.

Glad to see performance has not degraded. (It was too much to expect any significant improvements). Thanks for your work, Mustang. Now, bring on EDGE!

I have never done the dll injection as I thought it was only necessary with the beta drivers... Do I need to do it if I use 14.8?

This leaked 14.x is solid on my HD7850, i have just flown for over 2 hours in the 104th server with superb frames and image quality, a keeper for now

Hmm Catalyst 14.41? OpenCL 2.0, 64 bit only and looks like only GCN cards can use them.

UPDATE: it seems this driver needs .inf modding to correctly install, dropping the atiumd64.dll into bin folder is the best way to go for the time being.

edit: seems like this driver is a winner and stomps all over the 14.8 or 14.x beta (the one i've been using recently in DCS) i used the atiumd64.dll injection method to bin folder in DCS and observed these results (FPS top corner)

F-15 quickstart mission, enter cockpit and immediately pause the sim looking straight ahead (card is a HD7850 2gb @ 1050/1450)

44 FPS before with 14.x (14.8 will be near similar)

UBP7k6c.png

52 after with the newer 14.41 atiumd64.dll

opJ3Y4j.png

incredible, i have never had 60 fps around Novorossiysk like this before, and this is with 30km districts visibility!

MRk9hu9.png

this is no placebo, i can see the change in FPS as soon as i remove the .dll - i have uploaded the file below if anyone wants to try.

A couple of things could be the cause of this, such as another 3rd party injector running alongside the .dll in the bin folder (like sweetfx or similar) or you are running an older driver on your system like the 13.x Catalysts for example, to use this .dll you should already be running the 14.x series drivers in the system.

... So should I bother with the modified, leaked driver or just wait for 14.8?

First time I've ran into this, currently running the 14.8 version. Been doing the injection thing Skatezilla pointed it out and haven't seen this before.

Very strange i've been on TS with one of my squadmates this evening and he did this with no crash or problems at all - he was running 14.4 and as soon as he dropped this dll into his bin folder he gained around 8-10 fps (7970 card)

Hey guys - hoping you can help a driver noob out with this as I am very interested in the performance gains.

Currently i am running a HD 6970 on my rig with 14.4 as the driver st. Auto detection via AMD suggests this is the proper driver for my card.

I note; however, that the AMD OpenCL 2.0 driver does not list the HD 6000 series as supported. Additionally, I understand there is a guru3D post suggesting the OpenCL 2.0 has been modified for *most* cards.

Does this include the HD6000 series? Should I wait for OpenCL 2.0 to go WHQL and see if it will support HD 6000 series cards? i am trying to ascertain if I should download the guru3D version, inject atiumd64.dll and give it a try or if the pending release will just accommodate my rig with the discussed performance gains.

Thanks for any help.

AFAIK, the Cat 14.41 dll is for GCN GPUs only., so that means 7700, 7800, 7900, and R Series Only.

Which was stated by Mustang when he posted the dll file.

this dll shouldnt work at all on 5000, and 6000 series GPUs.
