The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

of course they had a key role in the UK efforts in the first Gulf war.

...and with the French AF, too. I recently read a very interesting article in an aviation mag, written by one of the French pilots carrying out strikes in Desert Storm. Gripping stuff!

I'd buy a jaguar for sure. :)

I'll buy a jag or a bucc or both AND send PMan a bottle of Balvenie Doublewood !

Vega 2700x /16Gb ram/480Gb SSD/1Tb Seagate/nVidia 2080/Win 10 64 bit Rift. T-flight pedals.

Anybody got any ice? Just got kicked in the spuds...

:smilewink: Maybe one day in the far future..

Sorry mate :helpsmilie:

We have a Tonka in the works though :pilotfly:

Plus some Classic British fav's they should keep you busy for now :D

I know, just yanking your chain. It's hard not to be excited by the current list of expected modules! And as much as I'd love a Jag, I'd prefer a Buc first tbh... Learning how to fly it at 3cm above the ground before pulling up at the last second o toss a bomb towards the target would be great fun ;) The Tornado is just as exciting, can't wait.

Pman ... you've just made me all emotional ...

All these planes ... so little time ... what a beautiful little conundrum I'll be faced with :D

"A true 'sandbox flight sim' requires hi-fidelity flyable non-combat utility/support aircraft."

Wishlist Terrains - Bigger maps

Wishlist Modules - A variety of utility aircraft to better reflect the support role. E.g. Flying the Hornet ... big yawn ... flying a Caribou on a beer run to Singapore? Count me in. Extracting a Recon Patrol from a hastily prepared landing strip at a random 6 figure grid reference? Now yer talking!

Sorry Guys,

No harm in wishing I guess, but its not in our plans, either roadmapped or my extended list.

Pman

Well, I'm sure other devs read these forums, too

Oh, and the Tornado needs to be a GR1-4 (yum!), not an F3 (yuk!)

It's a Gr1 we are doing.

It's not a case of lack of will but I don't believe we would sell enough Buccs or Jags to make them commercially viable

and Hawker Sea Hawks will?

I suspect the response you're going to get is that the Sea Hawk is a helluva lot less complex than the Jag and therefore cheaper to produce, so even with lower sales it'll stand a better chance of a decent ROI.

Could also be that VEAO just really want to do it as someone there has a passion for it.

Some aircraft share enough systems etc to be able to mitigate some of the development cost.

It's also alot more simple then a Jag with a much shorter Dev cycle.

This is the case with the Sea Hawk, however as per the disclaimer things can change and if after closer assessment during the development process it is deemed unviable then the project will have to be reviewed.

That's what I assumed, not

Thanks for the clarification :)

I would love to see some more British a/c in DCS. Look forward to info on the Tonka when the Hawk is out. Been a long time since DI's Tornado sim!

Edit: How's this for nostalgia! How things have changed!

Well, there is one big thing the Jaguar and the Hawk had in common....the engine! Rolls Royce Adour, only the Jag had two of them, and they obviously had the reheat module otherwise the base engine was the same.

They had a great Jaguar ground running simulator at Halton we got to play with, the instructor used to input faults and we had to deal with them correctly.

The fuel system on the Jag was very complicated as it had a system called part throttle reheat. Apparently a very complicated jet to fly with a very high cockpit workload for the pilot.

Well, no radar at all... Maybe the TIALD is probably the hardest part.

I beg to differ. Surely any of these would sell like hot cakes. Especially if each of us bought them twice, one for spare parts.

Maybe we could have a donation box as well, to help grease the path. Not that I'm keen or anything to get my hands of any of these babies :music_whistling:
