Griffon26 Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 (edited) Hey pilots, since a few days my dcs world crashes without any reason. Nothing has been changed instead of adding the MFDs of the A10c on a second monitor. But that was a few weeks earlyer before the error appeared and didnt made any problems. In the moment im just flying the A10c in some trainings mission made by me. When I fly with fc3 everything seems ok. I got a crash report too but Im not wise enough about software crashes and so I dont know what I should do. If you need some hardware specs too pls tell me! BitMaster Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Are you using the Steam version of DCS ? Your Ausnahmecode c0000374 is 99% not DCS related but caused by a faulty OS. Reasons for this rather general exception code are: Too many apps open while gaming that updated themselves ( all do updates etc.. ) to a combination that causes a conflict. Try less executables while starting DCS, ala AV off, all gimmicks off ( Dell HP etc.. software ), Firewalls OFF. Faulty Chipset Driver intelinf and storage matrix driver, redownload both and reinstall with 1 reboot in-between each. DX9 messed up. Try this as last thing. : If you have enough HD space and a good pipe to the net, download the beta or a 2nd copy of DCS aside yours and install that and see if that installation launches, if it does, it may have fixed yours as well. If they all run, delete all you don't want to keep. Do NOT forget to deregister your license(s) when you deinstall and mess with the system. Better reregister then loose 1. BitMaster Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 You have tried "REPAIR" from the DCS Start Menue ? Though I think that won't fix it, just to exclude simple things. Buzzles Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 dxgmms1.sys is a directx related file. Try reinstalling the latest version of DirectX and also making sure your video drivers are up to date. Make sure you reboot between driver installations. Fancy trying Star Citizen? Click here!
SDsc0rch Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 thx buzzles have not re-installed DX - will do that next nvidia just released new drivers and i shut down after every session (got an SSD - makes startup/shutdown painless..) btw.. i also got the little box that says DCS has had an unexpected shutdown (or words to that effect) when i close DCS ---- just happened just now i7-4790K | Asus Sabertooth Z97 MkI | 16Gb DDR3 | EVGA GTX 980 | TM Warthog | MFG Crosswind | Panasonic TC-58AX800U [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Griffon26 Posted September 27, 2014 Author Posted September 27, 2014 (edited) Hey folks, thx for the answers I wasnt able to answer the past few hours. Are you using the Steam version of DCS ? Yes, I do. Too many apps open while gaming that updated themselves The things I open mostly are: Steam TrackIR SST profile for the Saitek x52 and pedals !!Maybe the musicplayer while building missions and test them.!! Things which are running always: Norton Logitech Gaming Software You have tried "REPAIR" from the DCS Start Menue ? I´ll try the Steam repair option for DCS now if thats the same. EDIT: Steam found 84 faulty files!!! :noexpression: Are you running the DCS and the other bits and pieces regarding DCS in Administrator mode? What do you mean with other bits and pieces? When I start DCS I dont get a window where i need to accept the administrator option so I dont think that it runs in it. AtaliaA1 Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 (edited) That isn't a "Software" issue it is hardware related to windows. First place to look is the hard drive as Ram Errors would give U a General Protection Fault. I have seen that plenty of times in my 22yrs of PC repair and updating. Hard Drive Every time for me. It is possible to get that on a Mother Board Controller issue also as they appear equal to the OS. in its limited ability to asses the faulting device. After a few more of those the PC will run a Disk Check, allow it to continue as U will be able to stop or prevent the Check. It will clean up "Truncated" files lost due to the HDD Crash. (windows was unable to put things in order). The DX info. at the end of the screen is the OS reporting what it was doing last and not indicative of what caused the crash. Take note of the different files being reported there next time it crashes. U will see. Edited September 28, 2014 by AtaliaA1 This was a Boutique Builder iBuypower rig. JOKERACTS Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 possibly insufficient RAM or incompatible RAM configuration or RAM fault? check the CPU temperature? sufficient cold?, SLI or crossfire? Adjust the RAM speed, timing clock and voltage in BIOS? but I solved or greatly reduced the crash in single player by disabling the motherboard 's on board Ethernet controller and turn off the LAN Switch and MODEM. after that there is no crash at all! , that was really weird? with all the old setting I usually used. if I like to online or play online game, I will turn on the modem and Ethernet controller.
JOKERACTS Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 (edited) I tried different setting for the HDR graphics, I switch to WARM mode from Normal, the game start to crash. I switch it back to Normal HDR mode, the game sometime would freeze but not crash, I still can use "ALT + TAB" to desktop and click the DCS World windows to reload the progressing game, no problem. after I return to windows and check the error reporting tools, windows said it was graphics hardware?, possibly the graphics engine in the 1.2.10 is too old, the new graphics hardware latest release driver may not compatible with it? just wait for the DirectX 11 DCS World 2.0 !!! I also tried various graphics hardware setting, with V-synch off, FXAA off,... but before I switch the HDR to warm mode, I do reinstall the DirectX located in the DCS World redist folder, the game keep crash. I re-download the DirectX June 2010 from Microsoft website, and reinstall it, I start the game with HDR Normal mode, play with less crash or no crash at all. not sure which may cause it, because I do multiple setting change-out at a time.. the HDR COLD mode realistic for morning time set, HDR WARM mode realistic for evening time set Edited October 6, 2014 by JOKERACTS
JOKERACTS Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 what OS do you use? Windows 7 or 8.1? I noticed after crashed, the graphics quality would reduced? mirror view flickering and heliport flickering. I restored it with reinstall all the related graphics hardware driver. close the glcnd.exe and onenoteim.exe in the task manager before adjusting the graphics hardware and start the DCS World.
