I recall back when Beczl was in charge there was a teaser for a weapon. I cannot remember the name and the video appears to be removed from youtube. It was a small minigun type weapon mounted on the centerline.... What happend to this? Just curious [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
WinterH Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 GUV gunpod with 1 x 4 barrel 12.7mm YakB and 2 x 4 barrel 7.62 GShG gatlings. It is one of the weapons that was cut out of release plan due to poor integration, not much efficiency in DCS environment, and not much information available. At least as far as I know :). It would be cool and fun but, to be honest UPK-23 is much more desirable weapon overall. Wishlist: F-4E Block 53 +, MiG-27K, Su-17M3 or M4, AH-1F or W circa 80s or early 90s, J35 Draken, Kfir C7, Mirage III/V DCS-Dismounts Script
ff4life4 Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 The Mi8 has those pods. And to be honest I don't think they pack enough firepower when you blowing by the target area at 700kph. The 23mm cannons or rockets will work better for me

Art-J Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Beczl did model lots of fancy weapon systems, but after some research it turned out some of them were not quite really used on Bis versions of MiG-21 (or any other versions for that matter). We already have one "semi-fantasy" weapon now - Kh-66 (but at least it could be carried by other variants of MiG), GUV pod would be a bit too much. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
