smirkza Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 A superb project, great work! As usual, the effort that goes in to these home builds is inspirational. Smirkza Cheers, Smirkza
Pavespawn Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 That looks great. How many screens are you running on your front panel? Looks like 5? Plus your three displays, how does all that connect? I am admittedly ignorant on a lot of this.
Sabre-TLA Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Looks great SpeedBird. Glad to see others are into it as much as myself. That picture of you looks just like my setup only I have the older MBU-12/P mask. Please post how playing with the F-16 ACES seat feels. The A-10 seat is not reclined as much - more upright (I still have to make mine). MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates
Mr_Burns Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Love it, a lot! Nice work SpeedBird, really nice. Your leather seat looked heaps more comfy than the Aces 2. It is the only thing I dont get with pit builders is the seat..and anyone can chime in :-) Is the Aces 2 or any replica seat actually comfy?
Deadman Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 My ACES II is fairly comfortable I do have it set at the correct angel it is an A-10 seat with an A-10 seat pan Big difference between the F-16 seat pan and the A-10/F15 pan shape. I all so have the sheep skin seat cushions and use a mesh car seat back support arch to get some air flow. If I were still making my pit I would go with building an aluminum replica. the main thing is not using a flat seat pan or a flat back in making the replica. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
SpeedBird Posted December 10, 2014 Author Posted December 10, 2014 Thank you guys! Pavespawn: 5 screens on the dashboard (2 usb screens for MFDs) connected to the computer. And triple screens with a Matrox Triple Head 2Go. Sabre-TLA: I know. Now I have modificated the height and the inclinaison of the seat. I will post a picture soon. Mr_Burns: My ACES II is a replica and it's comfortable also :smilewink: Here is a pic of my first panel now finished:
simulatoregp Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 a real pleasure to receive compliments from those who built a beautiful cockpit for the A10 ! Best regard Sir . you are doing a professional job , congratulation !
Socket7 Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Amazing job on those panels! You don't happen to have part numbers for those panel switches in an invoice somewhere, do you? I'd like to build my own panels with switches that match the Thrustmaster warthogs, but nobody ever mention the part numbers they use! Mouser and digikey are terrible to navigate if you don't have one. Practice makes perfect.
SpeedBird Posted January 3, 2015 Author Posted January 3, 2015 Hello guys and happy new year! simulatoregp Thank you! Socket7 I bought my switches in an electronic shop. Reference for ON-OFF is COAP631H2 and ON-OFF-ON is COAP2005. Here is the lastest picture of my sim:
Sabre-TLA Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Looks great! Good job! Deadman was producing some Ejection Seat decals for both the seat and the outside panels. Not sure if he still has some but you might want to PM him to see if he is doing another run. Similar to these (only better). MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates
SpeedBird Posted January 3, 2015 Author Posted January 3, 2015 Sabre-TLA I already bought some real decals from Ebay US but thank you for the information. New picture:
SpeedBird Posted July 31, 2015 Author Posted July 31, 2015 Hello guys, I didn't posted here for a long time. Here is the latest picture of my home cockpit. I'm actually working on the fuselage and the avionics. Have a great day! 1
Lobinjaevel Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Love it! Always enjoy seeing others go "all-in" on their builds, flight gear and everything. Looking forward to seeing more of your build, great work so far! :) Cheers, Robin
Warhog Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I am thoroughly impressed. Besides the excellent looking cockpit that flight suit is fabulous. I am very jealous:D But I think my dog would go absolutely nuts if she saw me in that, especially with the visor in the down position. I hesitate to think what my wife would say as well.:P That said, I certainly applaud you for the level of immersion you have gone to. I don't expect to many other pilots here would take it to that level. In all honesty, I have consider going to that level as well. My real concern is how hot it would be to fly with all that gear. Looking forward to seeing more pics as you move forward.:) Regards John W aka WarHog. My Cockpit Build Pictures... LynxDK Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Looking really awesome with that Flight suit, helmet and everything :) Warhog, if you allready go all in like that, the step to make a canopy and a controlled temperature enviroment isnt that bad is it? :P Regards. LynxDK [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Instagram
Warhog Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Warhog, if you allready go all in like that, the step to make a canopy and a controlled temperature enviroment isnt that bad is it? AHH??? YAH ....
