Joe Kurr Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Do you use a button or switch in your cockpit to deploy your chute? If so, it could be that your switch bounces, resulting in rapidly deploying and releasing the chute in one go. Dutch Flanker Display Team | LLTM 2010 Tiger Spirit Award

Ironhand Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 At 200 km/hr, I would think it would be safe to deploy the chute. I don't recall ever using it myself in the Flanker but, if memory serves, you can safely deploy the Su-25T's chute at speeds below 230 km/hr. So I would think that you'd be OK at 200 for the Flanker. Only one key press. The 2nd press detaches the chute. Engines at idle. If you want to experiment, wait longer to deploy it at slower speeds and see if it makes a difference. But, with the Flanker, there's almost no need to use it, anyway, unless you're landing on a very short runway.
