SwingKid Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Why does the English forum have fewer posts, but more topics? -SK
Cobra360 Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 You mean compared to the Russian forum, could be loads of derailed topics and possibly the fact the devs operate more in the Russian forum. Who knows. Or maybe Russian speaking users use the Search function more.
Ironhand Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Shorter attention spans before we're off tilting at the next windmill. Dusty Rhodes Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 I think the Dev's operate quite a substantial bit more than here, thus creating much more stir. Look at the posts here from the Dev's. When they post it always raises interest and post counts (with and without substance). Guest ThomasDWeiss Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Good question - we have less and less to talk about as we have very little new to talk about. And Black Shark failed to generate any serious excitement(*). It is not that Lock On is dying but we have a very muted community. What imo hurts the English speaking community is that we have almost zero input on were lO is heading to –almost no news to talk about. we end up arguing amongst ourselves and 100%of the time fail to get ed to hear our complains and the threads go south. (*) see how many news were posted about BS in the last six months in other sites. I don't remember when I posted any news about it at Lockonfiles.
VapoR Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 The Russian section has been up for far longer than the English one.
Guest ThomasDWeiss Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 SimHQ has the same problem. I wish I had some hard facts to generate interest - as I have none ...
bflagg Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Why does the English forum have fewer posts, but more topics? -SK Because we are folks of few words... but long winded about it.... :p Thanks, Brett
Bublik Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Because there are a lot of flooders in the Russian forums... like me  WR=210=Vladimir http://lockon-vpg.nm.ru http://whiteravens.nm.ru http://white-ravens.com
Gunja Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 If English was native language to most people here, like Russian is in Russian forum, people would be more articulate in their posts. Just a (deep) thought.

SimFreak Posted April 4, 2006 Posted April 4, 2006 On average, Russian forum has much more substance and less spam, therefore I visit it more often. It feels as maturity level is lacking in English side….which annoys me greatly. I even placed few people on ignore list because they contribute only spam.

That's funny, I read both forums too, and prefer the English one.. Maybe because ED developers only disagree with me. ;) Do you guys even know what "spam" is? -SK
GGTharos Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Hehe ... I recall the maturity level of the Russian forums over the Ka-50 carrying AA missiles ... someone at some point even suggested that F-15's should be banned from online servers, but that may have been a different forum :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

Since you have inside info, you don’t need to worry about it. Also, I like humor there too. :P And I do know what spam is. I have one can left, and it has a great taste. :)

sumoscouse Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 I would just like to say in response to this 'deep thought' that if you look at the amount of postings from both sides you will see that one of two things is happening Either - postings on English speaking forums are increasing on a monthly basis or postings on Russian speaking forums are decreasing on a monthly basis. I say this because the way it stands at the mo' is as follows Russion Forum = 71.500 (roughly) English Forum = 68.000 (roughly) This equates to a difference of around 3.500 posts A few months ago the difference was roughly 6.000 A few months b4 that the difference was about 10.000 So you see men - this demands deep thought What is the answer to this conundrum? What is the Meaning of Life - anyone with me on this . lol Cheers SumoScouse Out
