Version Update 1.1 - 20150612

The hardened bunker at NAV point Towel was .. too hardened for the AGM-65G. After the recent DCS update that altered building penetration and hitpoints, I had to change the type of building used for primary target. Redownload from the user files section via the above link.

It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

Thanks Saber, it means a lot coming from you. I wasn't sure if others would like the scenario as much as I do. My goal was to create a live fire exercise where the range was close and I could focus on procedural analysis. Then I decided it would be good for KA50 as well, and that it needed some dynamic aspects and realism.. next thing I knew I was creating something for the community. When Nellis comes out I'll probably redo it there and retire this one. Tell me if there's anything you think I should add or omit.

Thanks all, glad you're enjoying it as much as I am.

If my voice acting gets on your nerves after a few playthroughs, just turn the UHF channel.. all coms are through the radio instead of play sound. (other than the movie clips)

Has anyone ran this on their server yet? Were there any problems or deficiencies?

Only had a few minutes before wife pulled me away but I did notice thr STO escort took off and then immediately landed. This was on my dedicated server and i have had this problem with AI flights not escorting/following the assigned client in my own missions. It works when I am the host machine but nit ehen iy rund on thr dedicated server.

Ill try to run thru the rest of the mission tonight.

I'm gonna give this a whirl tonight. Always enjoy your stuff StrongHarm. Was pleasantly surprised to come across some of your stuff on Armaholic the other day (I'm actually very much enjoying flying helos in Arma2/3)..

Thanks Beach, hope you enjoy! Yeah, I dabbled in building missions for ARMA3, but I much prefer the DCS community. The CAS mission I did for A3 was a mirror of the one I did for DCS. It's a submission of a greater battle that's part of a campaign. I'll be launching it sometime within the next month I think.

Hi StrongHarm,

thansk a lot for creating this. It reads interesting and is exactly what we need for training. But when flying multiplayer with my mates we were not able to get it to run, at least after five minutes of loading. I created the server and was in the mission, no problem from my ends. But my two mates had a very long loading time and then finally interrupted.

Have we been too impatient or have others seen this as well? Has it to to with my DSL connection (6000 down, 574 up)?

Any suggestion is very welcome.

Thanks and have a great evening,

Xoxen

Hey Xoxen, the mission is 14Mb, so it could have been an upload speed issue from the connection that was serving it up. Have everyone download the mission and start it in SP first. This should eliminate the problem. Sorry about the size, I added a lot of radio/sound clips.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad others are enjoying it as much as I am.

Hi StrongHarm,

thanks for the advice. When I calculate 574/8 I get an appr. upload speed of 71kb/s. 14.336 (14MB) / 71 = 202 seconds --> appr 3,4 Minutes. As we were three people, two were loading from my PC. So it could fit to wait more than 5 Minutes. We will give it a try to load it in SP first and then fire it up the MP. Good advice, thanks for this.

I will post if we finally made it and how we like this Mission.

Thanks and have a great day,

Xoxen

Wow sir! Excellent work. This is my first post and I chose the right time to do it. You putted a lot of work into this. I will try this with my Black Shark. Thank you for sharing StrongHarm.

You're welcome Gorilla. I'm flattered that my mission was the first thing to compel you to post in the year you've been on the forums. I did give this mission a lot of attention to detail, but I have to admit that this one isn't that complex. I'd encourage anyone who uses DCS to dive into the editor. ED really did an excellent job in making the editor flexible and easy to use. It's the real power of this simulator. We don't have a 'dynamic campaign' yet, per say, but we have something much more powerful; the ability to create a mission/campaign that is static to our imagination, but dynamic in execution. I'll soon be launching a campaign that I've been working on for nearly five years. I've thought of making this mission the first in the campaign to simulate pre-deployment exercises.

Shhh!! Surprise spoiler! :)

Thank you. I did put it in my overview video, but not in the briefing. I was hoping it would be an adrenalin rush for the people who don't watch the vid. I love watching the migs and 15s fight.. and the migs have got me a few times. I usually go practice inflight refueling with the 15s on my wing afterwards.

Unscheduled training evolutions are common in the US Military. It's easy to execute what was just learned in the classroom.. so it's not uncommon to see related but undiscussed events that test practical comprehension and quick thinking.
