Hi! I am looking for an answer regarding the poor accuracy of LGB. Whenever drop one it hit at 20 to 40 meters away from the target...when using the GPS guided bombs, it always fall on the target or within 2-3 meters (even if it the target is a tank)

Thank you!

You should be able to bomb at any altitude and get effective results IF you use an appropriate release method. There's nothing that says you need to use CCRP and Level Straight Through with LGBs. Certainly lower release altitude creates a harder problem to solve and isn't ideal for learning to use LGBs, but I don't think there's any reason it can't work, its just more challenging.

Warning: Nothing I say is automatically correct, even if I think it is.

Actually you can even toss-bomb and use the 45 degree climb and a smooth turn to lase the target... challenging, but if you get the height and a LOS correct even that works... recommended version would be to use buddy lasing, though.

It sounds like you are lasing immediately and constantly after release.

Try higher altitudes wait until timer indicates 8-12 seconds til impact. Then start lasing.

The timer is on the left side of the HUD.

This should be the right location

And shagrat is right....depending on how accurate you are releasing your bomb, your height and the movement of your target the bomb sometimes tends to lose to much momentum or "oversteer" if you lase directly after release

LGB profile likes to reset itself to CCIP (bug?). Might be the case (i didnt watch trk). Dont know how. Dont know why. It happens to me all the time, when i set profile for all bombs i carry.

I watched the track. I think after you saved your profile and selected it, your switching to CCRP via master mode button seems to have reset the autolase function. I'm guessing it loads a default CCRP profile outside of your settings for CCIP. So before going into your "CHG SET" page I recommend switching from CCIP to CCRP first, so CCRP is tied to the profile.

Mike5560 is right. It is important, that you use the PROFILE and select it with DMS, while HUD is SOI!!!

Do not click on a weapon in DSMS or select a delivery mode by Master Mode Button unless you know what you are doing.

Usually the profile holds all settings for the weapon. You can create multiple profiles or the same weapon according to different delivery methods.

Standard procedure:

-program delivery profile into DSMS on the ground or in orbit.

- set HUD as SOI

- DMS left/right to cycle through profiles

- make the bomb run

...only if you are e.g. in a CCRP profile and need to divert target to a dive bombing you would use MasterMode to set solution to CCIP so you could go into a dive release and lase in a quick run.

Delivery mode (CCIP/CCRP) is always(!) programmed into the profile. The MMB only changes the currently selected profile. As soon as you switch the profile and back again it uses the setting programmed into DSMS.

To change the standard profile from CCIP to CCRP you need to call the DSMS page, select the profile with OSB 19/20, select change profile OSB3 and on the right (OSB8 or 9?) where it says CCIP change it to CCRP... don't forget to "Save profile" top OSB 3! I forgot that so often when I started with the A-10 and had lots of "Doh!"-moments :D

This has quickly become an object lesson in how approaching use of the A-10C from a single weapon, single mode perspective ahead of a full understanding of the way to use the systems as a whole correctly will lead to problems.
