JJG43 Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 With out compromising any confidentially agreements are there any North American Beta testers for this project??
GGTharos Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Many, actually. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
JJG43 Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Next dumb question, ahh from what I read I didn't see if this game is online multi player???

Flyby Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 pilot workload? Hi guys, While eagerly waiting for BS to hit the US market, I thought I'd post a question (or two). Because BS is a single-seater, what's the pilot's workload going to be like? Will the avionics be advanced enough to allow the pilot to quickly detect, target and engage targets? Also, can the beta testers using the Cougar hotas chime in and discuss their profiles? I'm wondering how many keystrokes can be assigned to their joysticks. I'd really like to hear from them, and maybe get a profile from them too!:) thanks! Flyby out The U.S. Congress is the best governing body that BIG money can buy.

Force_Feedback Posted May 30, 2006 Author Posted May 30, 2006 So what about the voice warning system? Will we get the real thing (if it exists, maybe choppers don't need much vocal directions in emergency situations), or will we just have the basics like "pull up, max G, and blade stall warning"? Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
RvETito Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 I believe we can expect audio warning system very similar to the one we have now in the russian planes. That is a standart system, like the SPO-15 for example. It can be installed on any aircraft. "See, to me that's a stupid instrument. It tells what your angle of attack is. If you don't know you shouldn't be flying." - Chuck Yeager, from the back seat of F-15D at age 89. =RvE=

The current voice informator is very, very limited, she doesn't even say 15% of teh things she does in real life, hence the question, at what level will this system be moddled "basic n00b" or "realistic"? I don't know how come you're so sure about those % IRL. What do you expect it to tell you- something like "Make a spit-S and switch to Helmet mode"? This is an emergency alert system which means that it is supposed to provide you with audible information only when you must be warned for something important. I think the current audio warning is enough, I even find it boring most of the time. "See, to me that's a stupid instrument. It tells what your angle of attack is. I think the current audio warning is enough, I even find it boring most of the time. But the real thing gives you instructions what to do when some system is malfunctioning. Things like (from su-27 manual): "Automation failure of left (right) air intake. Control the panel manually". "No reserve left in side channel. Speed less than 600 and angle of attack not more than 10 degrees". "Failure of two hydrosystems. In the event of lack of pressure eject". "Check signal of control failure". "Brake chute engaged". There are some more, but I guess this is enough to give you an indication what she says. Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
Force_Feedback Posted June 3, 2006 Author Posted June 3, 2006 Are you sure your not getting mixed up with NightRider?:P 'Your Angle of attack is getting a bit excessive, Michael.' From the raal manual, unless they faked the real manual into letting pilots believe the VWS would say things it didn't in real life. ;) As I've heard, the engine and gearbox would be moddled in an "advanced" way, well, the failures can thus also be advanced, and the voice warning system should say what to do when for example an engine isn't running the way it should. And no gay "Right engine failure", but something (I'm guessing now) like "Right engine intake failure, power not more than 80%" [right intake has some fluke, engine not producing the full amount of thrust, thus the pilot should not pull all the way on the cyclic] Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:

Shepski Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 I think something like about 45 voice messages are in the works for the Almaz system of the Black Shark Ka-50... no promises of course. ;)
Fufunka Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 MFD export via LUA or screen dump? Dear ED devs, would it be possible to somehow export MFD instrument panel as well? HUD and other instruments are easily exportable now from Lomac but without MFD export there is no way how to build Ka-50 cockpit properly.. There is another method used for instance in Falcon4, EECH, and FS9 mods where they just copy the screenshot of the MFD panel from the video memmory and send it via lan to another computer, which will display it.. thanks
Maciver Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 I'm just curious if there ARE any plans to add a two seater? Its quite obviously possible.( battlefield series ) Put aside the huge fun factor for a min... It would be so easy to convince my friends to play if they could ride along with me! :) I have one more question; What will the multiplayer be like? Will there be jets AND choppers flying around? :drunk:

Will there be jets AND choppers flying around? :drunk: I think there are two considerations. 1) internet speeds have a problem to facilitate 2-seat flying, it was possible in 1.0 (or beta) on lan. 2) there are more windows opened to cheating. I dont know how the trainer mode used to operate. It is theoretically possible to let a second client connect to a host client allowed on a ip based allow list. I presume however that this will put too much strain on the netcode. Dont forget that battlefield and lomac are different concepts in every aspect of the word.
PaddyTB Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 So does it look like the manual for Black Shark might be released prior to the game. I think from memory that happened with FC. I would love to see a list of commands, particularly new ones for a little game controller I am putting together. :joystick: Be nice to have it 100% Black Shark compliant. Weta43 Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 With the LOBS navigation system is it possible to enter waypoints into the Nav system from the cockpit? (could I complete part of a mission, return to base, re-arm, look at the map & re-programme a new route to a new set of objectives?) Cheers.
