sirkickass Posted March 25, 2015 Author Posted March 25, 2015 hey, some of the things im interested in most is 1)customizing my plane, ie decals or paint schemes. where would i find some? 2) also getting into the multiplayer aspect of the game, any good servers or groups i should know about that are tolerant of noobs? i dont intend to be like (as some have stated here on these forums), like the steam noobs that roll onto a map and dont even know how to switch on an APU or start the engines and badger the other players with constant questions ingame. i'd rather do it in forums  also any advice on which modules to pick up, with regards to playability and also the player base involved, i dont want to get a module where no one plays it or it has limited playability or timespan
Roadrunner Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 (edited) skins: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/ http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=356 for MP servers i strongly suggest reading the server notes in the list and try to find one with a teamspeak server, there you can ask what behaviour they want on their server. edit: welcome to the crazy club of vPilots, enjoy your time ;) Edited March 25, 2015 by Roadrunner [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "There's nothing to be gained by second guessing yourself. sirkickass Posted March 26, 2015 Author Posted March 26, 2015 As stated before, be specific. What aircraft do you fly now that these questions may apply to? i currently have the SU25T and i'm looking at getting FC3 for the wide range of aircraft it provides, i prefer winged aircraft over rotor, however i could be persuaded to give them a try. Pick a airframe and RTFM. Best advice ever given to me. Hence why i looked to find the manuals location lol, i also got given the same info in the military. thanks so far for the info and links you have provided, @Sabre-TLA i'll take a look at those links once i feel competent enough
skendzie Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 I started up about 2 months ago (After buying the UH-1H Huey in 2013 :D ). I just bought the MiG-21 yesterday and man it is a joy. It's more in depth than the FC3 planes but not so complicated like the A-10C. I would personally buy FC3 because of the F-15 and Su-27. Easier to learn and fun to fly. But I wanted to wait for a steam sale (usually about 75% off) so that's why I got the Mig-21.

Like Excessiveheadspaces' He goes well beyond the Manual in his lessons on the Targeting Pod. A must for anyone just learning the Sim. Just do a search for Him on Youtubes sight and there are others. I thought someone created a sticky with this information? Also I own about 75% of the DCS modules, but find it very difficult to pull myself away from the KA-50 Blackshark. When you get to know how to control her, it's very satisfying, more so than a fixed wing IMO. Have fun.
