Fixing some loops in parking area. Transparent edges do not work properly, texture Parking is not always placed in the same way in other airports. There are several airports that do not use these textures, we already know. These air bases used by other smaller textures. Edit these smaller textures, with wear and stains would really problematic loops, simply because repetition module is much smaller than in the texture now edit. If I'm not mistaken, that would be the reason not edit other bases. :)

I think the transparent borders have no good result it will increase the RAM used. I think that detail can pass above (avoid). Add an alpha channel doubles the texture size in MB and no good result. I think. By the time I removed that.

Hello T.Jacob

 

Using your old soviet style runway...excellent texture but I felt the color was a bit warm and brown on my system.It didnt blend too well with standard taxiways and aprons and was a bit hard to spot from distance.So I edited it and made it greyer and now it blends well with the rest of the airport textures and is easier to spot from distance.

DCS renders some airports differently so the textures are not seen on all airfields..and Toby just used the temptextures folder..what is just an other approach of overwriting files...the general file path is the same..because DCS expects the airfield textures in the landtextures zip

 

Just tried, temptextures folder does not work for either Tony23's or this mod

Hello, aceviper you're free to make your changes, the idea is to have our taste the world of DCS. About the color, it just depends on the references that each has, and personal taste. Glad you make your changes.

Just tried, temptextures folder does not work for either Tony23's or this mod

 

When you extract the texture from the dds file to bmp.....and remove the. bmp from the end of filename it works in temptextures.

Jacob if you want when this new texture I can give as gift because you're the author of this Mod.

It's not easy to obtain one better result with the edge of this texture and the taxiway, sometime it's good and sometime the edge is not good.

Jacob if you have one solution it's perfect, for information I've tested this texture just with Kutaisi.

 

Also I've created two versions of this texture, one with the word "hangar" in Russian language et without this name, as you want...

Please can you tell me if you like this version, if few mistakes could be fix...

I think it's better without the word hangar to make it more generally, on the other hand, such an indication may be unnecessary since the hangars are visible to the naked eye.

 

I did some tests with spots of tires (wear) at the end sideways.

Yes you have right for the name, it's was just for fun. Please if it's possible can you tell me if with my texture your FPS drop ?

I agree with NRG-Vampire, tiles should look natural. If the tiles are not realistic and we add the viewpoint which is almost all the time not realistic in the game (external camera is odd being like a drone view and in cockpit view is a bit distorted most of the times because of the FOV) we get a very easy to feel sense of not real... which is immersion killer.
