We just finished creating this new feature, this means that a player will be locked to a certain side for the whole duration of the campaign round. How does it work: - First time enter the server - No slot is available. If a slot is selected, the player is thrown back to spectators and given a chat message explanation that he needs to write in chat - blue or red ,In order to select with which side he wants to fly with in this round. - After writing in the chat, another chat message is returned that a selection has been made and the player is locked on that side, only that side slots would be available, if selecting the opposing side slots, a message will appear in chat explaining that a selection for the other side has already been made. * In case anyone would like to change sides, he would need to contact someone from BuddySpike team to do it with an explanation why. What is it good for? We have seen in several occasions players jumping between sides to id enemy fighters and give GCI/AWACS information to the opposing team by using the other side JTAC commander overview. With this new feature, this is no longer possible and sides are divided for the round duration. The current system is pretty much useless with 7 lifes (except if you are really that bad). Getting 4 lifes will get it better but i think they is a real gameplay experience to explore here. Heavy fighters : F-15/Su 27 : 4 points (maybe 3?) Modern Strikers : Su-25T/A-10C : 3 points Interceptors : Mig-29/21 & Mirage 2000C : 2 points Cheap strikers : Ka-50/Su-25A/A-10A : 2 points Helis and Trainers : 1 points. Starting with something like 12 points makes you playing a nearly unlimited helicopter, or at least 3/4 heavy fighter planes. Or you can play it savy and fly Mig-21/29, you have less missiles under your wing, but you have more of them (like IRL) This would reflect the value of the plane, and makes mig21/mirage victory over superiority fighters not only an accomplishment, but a realistic impact. HiJack Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I know this is a huge undertaking to do but if you all would like it real as possible then money should come in as a factor. Give everyone a lump sum of virtual money and price everything you use on the battlefield. Earn money for captures, kills, and hourly bases on equipment support like placing SAM that works. Loose money when equipment is destroyed, you are killed, crash, launch missile etc... Using a point systems will be more "game" like.

They have to refuel/repair the airbases, capture targets, provide CSAR, transport JTACs, build SAM groups. For all other aircraft the limit of lives is 4 from now on and it resets every 6 hours. Farps are the tricky ones, piling on extra slots causes explosions and such, plus I don't think that all fighters and strikers will have chopper modules but there are easily ways to solve this and it will force team play which is a good thing and emphasise choppers and reduce fighter madness. Nothign shows up. I hit the menu, select the item, but nothing comes up. I'm clueless what causes this :O - edit, having it again, right now in a 27 at beslan i get no pak-intel, but jtac status (no jtacs) is being displayed ... i got the initial spawn-pakintel-message, but cannot call the new one ... I die on half of my startup because aircraft just explode immediately without warning (looks like it spawn in the ground) I know you don't want rampstarts, but at least have a look into the random explosion issue. When you select the slot, you just go BOOM. We lost the farp because I was unable to get in the air. Also, Unlimited heli is great in such case, but i just figured out it allows you to spam helis at incoming ennemi helis. Maybe put a log-message into the intel-function so I can check if it gets called when it occurs the next time ... just looking at the code i see nothing that could be wrong, I'm using almost the same code after all ...

Can you please tell me if you remember what aircraft you were using and from what base/farp ? Maybe it's cause of mixing group ID's. You shutdown'ed the server to install improvements. 10 min before that happen, the CSAR script stopped working after I picked up someone. I was flying an Mi-8 from Sukhumi-Kutaisi FARP.
