I want to say around 20nm from blue FOB on heading 107 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]1000 miles of road will take you around town, a 1000 feet of runway can take you around the world...unless your in a Huey, you can go anywhere with no runway in a Huey! multiplayer name ''DustOff=3=6''

I am now cheating on Skynet and using my programming skills to develop a big ass game with an awesome team. I know what you guys are going to ask: "Can we kill F15s in the game you are making?" And the answer is no. Basically, that's why my presence in game and on the forum has been reduced. This and my family visiting. There you go, you guys now know what's going on and even if I know this doesn't satisfy your hunger for fixes and R73s in the face, I hope this will soften the burn of waiting. The AI CAP is overzealous when it comes to helos, they seem to be going after us when there are other fighters about. We had a 5 gazelle party today and all of us were shot down by the AI F16s in about 10 minutes. Fairly certain we lost 2 in the first pass alone! I've attached the F10 map of where we were when we got engaged initially, as well as my final moments in a video to show them coming for us. You can see from the screenie that 2 of us were already down when I took the screenshot, and in the video I've gone quite a bit west with both F16s still harrassing me after taking my 4 wingmen down. some reason its not showing the image... just right click and click 'open in new tab' Would it be possible to set the AI CAP so that it doesn't engage helos? they strafe us on the ground if we land to try and avoid them too... I'm not sure what the workaround would be other than disabling their ability to attack helicopters. Other than that, still having fun! Especially when Dustoff challenges me to the duel zone... but that's another story ;) [ame] [/ame] [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
bertOC Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Can confirm, AI CAP really has some fun ruining qualities towards helos, destroying our party in minutes after we flew all the way to blue farp, though it really was a ton of fun anyway! I recorded the Tacview, at least it seems i wrecked my Gazelle all by myself while tricking the slammer, well.. Since you can also get into CAP range when flying ~20nm from a FARP, i'm also with Cosmic and everybody else pissed off by AI CAP. Nope, if you go to deep in enemy territory and in the AI CAP zone, it's normal that you get engaged and without support, killed. In the past, I've already setup AI to not engage helicopter and it ended up bringing more trolling than usual by helicopters. Sorry. However, I will check the CAP zones to make sure they leave spaces to have fun like it was also requested by fighters :thumbup: Mirknir My old server: The Thread

Can definitely hide a little easier from those pesky 27s :) Yea the AWACS are further from CZ than before. However, I also want to balance the AWACS detection range with the abilities to hide because that's what made the su27 so deadly in Khashuri. Deep valleys and good AWACS detection. Tuapse is flatter as a map so I don't mind having more AWACS detection than in Khashuri especially since the lack of deep valley make the F15 a bit stronger with their nice radar. I'm a helicopter pilot, I love Huey(huey is life) and if I am able to deliver a GBU12, BUDDY LASED by an A10, over a highly defended/ multiple sams and AA helo pad, FROM A F5, :pilotfly: we should call that an amazing accomplishment! Lol sounds like a lack fighter of protection/stacked teams. Also remember, FOB stands for FORWARD operating base, i.e. In the danger zone..oops I mean conflict zone :P gotta get those scramble start sequences going and off the pad asap just like IRL :thumbup: No hard feelings to my fellow Huey pilots (Huey is life) but sometimes you need to mix it up. FOBs are not designed to be a target and Open Conflict is designed to welcome everyone, not just hardcore players that enjoy missiles in their faces on spawn. Repeated sneaking to and attack against the enemy FOBs will be considered trolling and will be fixed with more defenses and more AWACS cover. I know it's the conflict zone so everything should be fair game but there are fine limits because of the way I made Open Conflict. I chose to put every planes on both side and let everyone go to the team they want instead of activating my 'go to the weakest team' algorithm. This enjoyable freedom of starts often lead to unbalanced team and thus, I added protected zone, more SAMS defenses and AI CAPs to offer minimum help for everyone. Whether it's an accomplishment or not, whether the accomplishment was mitigated by stacked team or not, I just don't want people to get shot on their spawn points ; at least not repeatly. Again, I hope that's not a server breaking rule for you :P But don't get me wrong, I enjoyed watching the video (once I muted it) but I need to maintain a certain balance to the server and safety to the spawn zones. And to Mirk, yes this is what happens when i have no one to spill my ramen or super sonic boom my helo, hopefully with new job (congrats by the way!) you will get a little bit of time to relax and come play on server again! As for the fob destruction via GBU :megalol: and perhaps a few HOT3 missles:music_whistling: don't you know me by now? I like hardcore realism when I'm on the side that's winning :P and complain when I'm not on that side. Baha. But in all seriousness I can admit it was slightly trollish and I would never make it a habit or constant mission to destroy poor helos on a spawn. It was more of a "I wonder if this could work" idea then a "let's troll those helos" lol. You can count on me that it won't become a consistent objective or anything like that. The other I killed was a kill on a friendly ground vehicle. The only issue I didn't commit either. All my 120s were still on board, and I was climbing through 10k heading toward the tanker. Not really sure whats up with that :huh: There is an elusive mistaken identity bug that Skynet have due to a DCS function giving me false results.
