Any word on not being able to load ammo into helicopters?

If it cant be fixed, maybe remove that part of the transport missions?

So I just discovered that the new script is up for testing. I did notice that I could load ammo into my Mi-8 now. :)

 

Suggestion or idea-Have one document that we can download that has all the available chat commands. Probably broken down by category. If this is something you could whip up, and we could have handy for quick reference, I think it would be very handy. Particularly while people are learning the new methods of obtaining information.

Looking at the logs, I couldn't find your bug but I could see a lot of people loading ammunition cargo in their chopper.

 

I logged in and I can load ammunition cargo in my UH1.

 

Not sure what happens for you and maybe it was a one time rare bug.

 

In next script version, I added a report bug function so you can report it when it happens and I can track it better in time and in logs.

I thought of that but this is my last resort as needing a document would be a fail for me.

 

The ingame briefing is already not read by 99% of the people and so I don't think having a document outside the game would work.

 

I want everything as much possible as ingame, in your face, like the HUD :)

Every commands and command lists are available from the -help commands (also in the radio commands) that would pop a help page in your face.

 

Also, having an outside document is always a pain in the ass to maintain when you update the server commands.

 

I am still working on increasing the accessibility tho :thumbup:

oh yea also...

 

After some of the playtesters complained about having to type stuff esp. for transport mission, more chat commands will be shortcut in the radio menu like before :thumbup:

I think you will find the right mix of radio commands and chat functions. I did really like the chat function that allowed me to load more than one item at a time. That was a time saver. I will be on the server a lot in the coming days now that I have a ton of free time. Will report what I find and provide feedback as well. Thanks again for all your efforts.

No there is no schedule right now, it's random.

 

I do a test session when I can be there to play, monitor the logs and take notes.

 

Then, I fix every bugs found and modify some feature based on comment of the playtesters.

 

Then I organize another session.

 

The more stable and the more freetime I have, the more session there will be :)

 

I may start advertising test session on the main server when I start a new one

Hello guys

 

Little update about Skynet 2.0!

If you don't know what I am talking about, you can check this:

So the playtest have been going well and I wanted to thanks everyone that participated so far and will participate in the future.

 

There is so much I can do by myself and you helped me a lot to debug my shits:thumbup:

 

As a pitiful reward :lol:, here are some release notes of stuff you help me fix and improve:

  • Added a global tracking of all weapons (rockets, bombs, missiles) to make sure the maximum kill log entries have a weapon displayed
    • By default and to my surprise, a majority of DCS hit event are missing weapon information when running in server mode
    • When Skynet registers a kill without weapons, it will take the closest weapon fired by the killer and with a last known position within a certain range of the victim
    • Some kills will still remains without weapons and will be displayed as follow: Psycho ▶ Killed ▶ Ural 4320

     

 

  • Added a lot of missing entries in Skynet global database of weapons, units and scenery objects
    • Database is, for example, used to build better/shorter display names for weapons and units
    • Ex: "MOST(ROAD)BIG-M" will be displayed as 'Bridge Section'
    • Ex: "weapons.bombs.CBU_97.server.launcher.cluster" will be displayed as 'CBU97' (I think that's the craziest one :))

     

 

  • AI kills happening in the conflict zone have been added to kill seen by everyone
    • I may do something fancier to know your assets are 'under attack' later

     

 

  • Fixed a lot of bugs in chat commands, esp commands spamming everyone

 

  • A lot of radio commands have been added for people that don't want to type
    • Like it was requested a lot, you can load cargo without typing!
    • Some commands are still just accessible by chat like detailed report about an objective

     

 

  • Fixed a lot of bugs in delivery and rescue missions

 

  • Added TeamHit and TeamRam immunity to some units
    • Ramming a tanker will not be an offence as it's part of the training
    • Killing your team spotters will not be an offense are they are really close to the danger

     

 

  • Killing yourself and hitting yourself is no longer an offense :)

 

  • Screenshot message removed

 

  • Added Skynet voice messages when:
    • You get a good pvp kill
    • You team killed an AI
    • You team killed a player

     

And the adventure goes on....

Could you please add a A-50 AWACS to the blue side, for better support of russian planes?

I am flying with original cockpits (US=imperial system, RU=metric system) and metric system on the map. I am not the best in math, so i have troubles to interpret AWACS info for distance and height of an target when flying russian planes on blue side.

I might add an ASMR mode on the sounds to relax pilots :lol:

Soon, I will release the new masterscript 'Skynet 2.0' and it will come with a new version of the map:

 

In Map version 5.3.9

 

FARPs and Power

 

Positions of FARPs:

 

FARP position have been adjusted a bit for two main reasons:

 

  • Provide more protection, away from plains and a bit more behind hills
  • Free some roads to have more possible routes for convoy without adding danger to nearby FARP

The affected FARP are:

 

  • Blue Zestafoni FARP (spawn point) has been moved away from the main road to the hill south
  • Blue Surami FARP (delivery objective) has been moved west, away from a main crossroad
  • Red Gori FARP (spawn point) has been moved south, away from the planes, a bit more up south
  • Red Agara FARP (delivery objective) has been moved south, away from the planes, a bit more up south
  • Red Leningori oupost is now a FARP and a delivery objective in addition to being a safe out for rescue

Convoys tweaks:

 

  • Blue convoy from Dusheti to Tskhinvali now stay futher from the red protected zone
  • Red Retaliation Convoy has changed route a bit
  • Red artillery convoy departing from Ambrolauri is now heading to Khashuri instead of Lanchutti (to stay in conflcit area)

'Disarm bombs' missions: GONE!

 

  • Now replaced by 'infiltration' to squash.
  • Like bombs, infiltrators will be scattered in a small region and more or less well hidden
  • Unlike bombs, infiltrators won't be able to be defused but will come in different shape and durability (truck, helis, light armored...)

'Railway Hideout' scenery objectives: GONE!

 

  • Gone! They are hard to properly defined and more often than not, make player confused about what to destroy
  • Other more specific scenery objectives will stay like killing bridges

 

New A2G Objective for Red:

 

  • Sagarejo Spy Hideout, inside the red protected zone
  • Tbilisi Blue Infiltration, inside the protected zone

New A2G Objective for Blue:

 

  • Kobuleti Abandonned Red Airfield, inside the protected zone

New Delivery Objective for Red: Leningori

 

  • Leningori FARP needs helicopter pilots and supply
  • When resupplied, it will then send an helicopter attack flight to Tskhinvali

There we go, the deed is done!

 

The entirely new masterscript Skynet 2.0 has been released with the updated map.

Of course, I don't expect this first version to be bug free!

That's why you can now report problems when they happen with chat command -report

With this command, I will have a time reference in my logs and recordings for better and faster debug.

 

Example of good uses:

-report I planted 3 explosives and they failed to detonate

-report Gori FARP doesn't provide me fuel

-report Goose is killing players with AIM54 in a A10C

 

Example of bad uses:

-report I don't like clouds

-report The central Tors are killing more players than me, they must be cheating

-report Protected Zones are discriminating against innocent F15 that just want to deliver AIM120 to trainees

Lol at example of bad uses..

Mirknir, what's the penalty for illegal payloads ? Temporarily banned or for good ? I've seen several users use AIM-54 on their Eagles I even became their victim once. The weird thing is it was declared I was hit by AIM-120 but the tacview said it was AIM-54. Which one is right I couldn't tell....

DCS hit/kill events are often without weapon info when you run in server mode.

Thus whether it's SLMOD or my own script Skynet 2.0, we often need to 'guess' what weapon had been used to do the kill by monitoring weapons dropped/launched by players and/or timing and/or position.

 

We both use different methods but at the end of the day: Tacview is right :lol:

Skynet 2.0 will now enforce some rules and destroy more illegal missile on launch.

Later on, more and more illegal weapons will be detected when I build up the main database over time.

 

Also, illegal payload launch now contributes to your offense score like team hit, kill and ram do.

A big enough offense score will get you kicked for some time.

 

The penalty is like any offense, temporary ban first then perma ban if it keeps repeating...

 

Conclusion is: I can't wait for ED to bring back the file integrity check.... :lol:

there is an Radio Mod for Huey out there wich provide RL communication records and music from "Battlefield Vietnam" and some blues.

Would be cool if it was implemented in the mission.

One small thing a a new player on your server (thumbs-up for this great thing!)

 

Being concentrated to work on some objectives, suddenly I almost got a heart attack because the server wants to tell with a "BOOM-BOOM!" that a restart will occur in 2 hours...

 

Suggestion: Could you please change that sound for us elderly, very easily being scared pilots, by a more silenced one?

My favorite would be the 'ticker' from J.A.G.

 

Pls listen enclosed file. It has several rips in it.

Hope I don't hit any legalties by offering it here...:cry:

I sadly can't put can't integrate 86Mo of sounds into my 0.9Mo missions :lol:

It would be too heavy for people when they join and have to download the goods.

 

At some point, I might check if I can start sounds that are not in the mission but, if you have locally, good for you and if you don't, it's ok too.
