People loves simulations because they simulate things, if I can't see what's simulating, it's a little bit pointless if you know what I mean :D I've never said that there wouldn't be visual cues. All I said was that terrain deformation is not needed. Besides, it is silly to argue about something we don't have any control. ED will develop it or not at their own discretion. I'd buy the mirage even if it had nothing but a/a weaponry. However the BM 400 as a rocket assisted bomb is a rather unique thing, which would in my opinion be a interesting addition to DCS. The system itself started out as a private venture, but was adopted by the French airforce in the late 80's, and was sold to asian countries as well (although in very small numbers).

The kind of book like the first link collect data during Airshow and commercial data, so it is not necessary relevant from operational point of view. The weaponry listed by Zeus is already pretty wide and cover AG missions from medium altitude strike to low level CAS for various target. It's realistic, and with corresponding nav/ targeting mode you will have plenty to play with. low/ high drag 500lbs bombs, GBU series, runway denial bombs, rockets, AG guns. All is covered, and real pilot were probably not qualified for half of this list (training 80% AA - 20% AG)... No need to throw all French weapons you can find on the web... Terrain deformation is hard to do, but flagging a runway as unusable is not. Making your aircraft crash and burn on take-off after hitting the virtual crater is easier to do than the crater itself. Could this effect be achieved to by placing a polygonal object at the point of impact, combined with parallax occlusion mapping, or am I oversimplifying it?
