The problem lies with the WCS's inability to employ them. Russians are quite fond of hanging all sorts of impressive weapons on their aircraft, even if it is absolutely meaningless.

This may not be set in stone, but I would bet on 'No Iglas' on the Ka-50.

 

Will the Ka-50 not be selectable on different coalitions?

Realistically, no. But, for game-play reasons, *IMHO* ED will provide some kind of a solution.

 

...fly other helos using the Ka-50 pit . . . I prefer my flyables to actually be aircraft that are in service!!!

Cammance 4 a sim? AFAIK it went down the drain since 3 arrived, after that even adrenaline pumped 11-yr olds don't consider it a sim. Longbow 2 was a sim, but I hated its lack of ground collision moddeling and the bad resolution.

personally I would prefer to see the improvements in terrain and trees, water etc...than the models. I think models are fine. Immersion is the requirement here. :)

All I fly is Su25 and while the purpose of the mission it A2G...I get most satisfaction from downing hogs...and even more when splashing some over-cocky fighter jock...with guns or a vikr

 

I'm sure about your satisfaction of shooting down enemies, but do you fly, like i said, intentionally dogfight missions with your Su-25? If you do, then I admire your enthusiasm and I might start flying kamikaze missions against aircraft carriers with my Su-27:D

 

We all do things in this game that RL pilots would steer well clear of, like Frogs attacking Hogs etc, which is why in my original statement I specifically said ONLINE...

 

I'm pretty sure that any RL CAS pilot will try attack anything he defines as foe, be it ground or airborne. That's why Su-25 and A-10 have a couple of R-60s/AIM-9s for selfdefence, just in case... But none of them will scramble into fighter sweep or intercept mission.

 

Why do any of us fly online? I dont know about anyone else, but part of the reason I fly online is the satisfaction of defeating a human opponent...Should I be happy with playing against AI then, just because I might be flying a helo and its natural enemy is ground units?

 

I fully agree with you. We both fly online for one and the same reason. If you want helo head-to-head why don't you fly the Ka-50 even from one side. I guess you fly mostly on the VVS504th server, I also fly online pretty much(actualy I almost never fly offline) on the RvE Guns Only and Scudslaker servers and 3/4 from all fly the Su-27. Few are flying the F-15 and the rest. So I don't see any problem why you can't "dogfight" with helo in BS, which is still quiet meaningless to me. For me, a dedicated Flanker pilot, it's like bombing an enemy aircraft carrier and it's escort with iron bombs... Can't see to much of a fun or logic in that...

actually the fulcrum model is pretty good in lomac already. Look at the tex formats and stuff....it must have been made in the later dev stage. The fuclrum, F-18, su 25T, Ka 50 all seem to be made by the same dev.

 

damn,,,a new Hog model + flankers + eagle (not my jet ;)...well...the eagle 'real' bird is my fav ;) ) would be a mighty fine surprise. :smartass:
