StandingCow Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Excellent news. It's a great module already, glad it is going to get better. 5900X - 32 GB 3600 RAM - 1080TI My Twitch Channel ~Moo
decipher Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 much needed updates, i hope they won't take 2-3 more years to finally implement these things... i very much enjoy flying the huey and have to thank belsimtek for hours and hours of fun flying, but it just misses this little bit of extra realism to the simulation to be almost perfect!
Aginor Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 I was really excited when I read it. :) DCSW weapons cheat sheet speed cheat sheet
the_soupdragon Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Still no fix for teh filthy windows though. you can barely see through them. Wait till I get a hold of my crew chief, I'll kick his arse from here to next thursday. SD [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
kevinsue Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 There are a few different mods to clean up the windscreens in the Downloads User Files section which are easy to apply. My ground crew have the windows sparkling clean and also applied Rainex! No need now the use the windscreen wipers any more because the water can't stick to the windscreen. :smilewink: Best Regards....Kev* [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "The finest Captain I ever crossed swords and set sail with"
AussieFX Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 This will make an already brilliant representation about perfect. I'm wondering if it took the 1.5 update to be able to implement this. It seemed an odd thing to leave out. Will the Mi-8 get it too? Thanks Belsimtek!
Justificus Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) There are a few different mods to clean up the windscreens in the Downloads User Files section which are easy to apply. My ground crew have the windows sparkling clean and also applied Rainex! No need now the use the windscreen wipers any more because the water can't stick to the windscreen. :smilewink: I just looked at all the files in the download section here and filtered for the Huey and did not find a single one that does this. Do you happen to have any links? Thanks! EDIT: Never mind. Did a search  and found one: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/777142/?sphrase_id=2048178 Edited October 28, 2015 by Justificus Add Link Justificus System Specs:i7 4970K @ 4.8, GTX 1080 SC, 32GB G.Skill DDR 2133,Thermaltake Level 10 Full Tower Case, Noctua NH-D15 6 Cooler, Win 10 Pro, Warthog, CH Pro Pedals, CH Throttle Quadrant, Oculus, 1 32" & 2 19" Monitors Modules Owned: A-10C I+II, Ka-50, FC3, F-86, Mig-15, Mig21, UH-1H, Mi-8, CA, P-51D, BF-109K-4, FW-190 D-9, Hawk, NTTR, M-2000C, SA342, F-5E, Spit Mk. gospadin Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Heat modeling is really going to change how many of us fly our Hueys. I assume many of us fly at max engine throttle settings and just leave it there, knowing we're over-temping our engine by 30C or whatever. Going to have to change my concept of a "normal" cruise speed from 120kts down to the recommended 109 kts empty, and in the low 90s with a load. WildBillKelsoe Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 awesome! AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
VincentLaw Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I assume many of us fly at max engine throttle settings and just leave it there, knowing we're over-temping our engine by 30C or whatever.Just maxing the throttle? Don't forget to set the governor to emergency for a little extra power ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
LCYCowboy Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I thought that the with engine governor, you left the throttle at max anyway (and the governor took care of the rest)
gospadin Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I thought that the with engine governor, you left the throttle at max anyway (and the governor took care of the rest) If you set throttle to max, without the governor override, the exhaust gas temp will exceed safe limits. The "correct" throttle setting is thus apparently slightly lower. My liveries, mods, and missions for DCS:World M-2000C English Cockpit | Extra Beacons Mod | Nav Kneeboard | Community A-4E
diceman Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 I'd be happy with some decent missions. There are "some" but they are all over the board, hard to tell what version of the game they work with etc..... Sigh, such a fun bird to fly.....
Buznee Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 I hope this will also apply to the AI for the campaign as it seems to like to pull max power all the time and makes it very difficult to stay in formation with. If not, this will make it impossible to keep up with the AI.
