[REPORTED]Distant trees no longer seem to blend

The new 1.5.1.46722.87 update seems to have changed how distant trees blend; right now, they seem to stand out like a sore thumb. Before, they blended in with the distant terrain hue.

The trees are reported, revisit your options and check them as some tweaks have been made

I encounter the same issue as Esac_mirmidon: distant objects - not only trees - feel as if they are out of place; they seem to not blend into the environment either.

Should this be reported as a new bug?

Trees and objects inside and outside cokpit. Any High, Ultra or Extreme has the same effect.

I sure will be disappointed if this was a bug that came with the latest patch.:mad:

 

Seems like it... IMHO, that warrants a hot fix since that's quite breaking the immersion - despite all the other improvements in this patch.

EXTREME? There shouldn't be an extreme setting nor the option to choose 25000 as tree distance. I believe this is a residue left over from the improved distance mod. I have seen this happen before with 1.2. In my experience this mod cannot be completely removed with JSGME and has the potential to cause issues that can only be corrected with a new install. Please do not take this as advice but rather just a theory from my past experience.

@Blooze: In my case, I never used such a mod prior to and after 1.5... plane jane DCS install.

It´s an Open Beta, this things could happen and we have 1.2.16 available to avoid such "heart attacks" when something is changed, updated or included.

 

Enjoy the new OB or remain with the 1.2.16 until 1.5 Gold version.

I removed the config lua file, and afterwards the issue with the Extreme Setting became obvious; however, going to Ultra does not fix the problem with the trees and editor objects as discussed in this thread. It does fix the problem of no details being shown in Extreme.

correct the trees can not be fixed by using ultra, only the ground detail texture issue

Trees and other objects appearing as black in foggy conditions

 

Hi Guys,

 

Just went up for my first flight in the new update and I immediately noticed something when I turned the fog on. When in-cockpit trees, bridges and static objects appear black and spotting them seems far too exaggerated (it's as if I was looking through FLIR BHOT mode if the trees, bridges etc where very hot indeed). Interestingly enough in F2 view everything is normal - no issues. Now I've only tested this so far in the MiG-21Bis, I'll keep you posted once I've tried more aircraft.
