MagnumHB Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 http://www.skyvector.com Sent from Tapatalk via Samsung Alpha. Seconding this. The nice thing about a map set realistically in the US is that you have free and easy access to all the charts and plates you need from places like Skyvector, Airnav, and even directly from the FAA, not to mention services like Foreflight if you have a subscription.
Bourrinopathe Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Also there's AirNav for the diagrams. I can't find Creech and only a rough one for Groom Lake (not in AirNav) (obviously). SnorreSelmer Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Great find there mwd2. I hope someone could interpret the airfield diagram at the start of the document where you have the areas for EOR(?), Drag Chute Jettison, Hot Brakes and Hydrazine incidents. nikita_nomad Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 Hey guys. Is Nevada map so accurate that you could actually use skyvector charts within the game?
Bourrinopathe Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 SkyVector (sectional chart) is usable for the most part as the elevation data, roads, railroads, power lines and natural features are present on the Nevada terrain. As it's not a 1:1 recreation of the area, you won't find every airport and airfield (no quick stop at Temple Bar, or engine melting at Furnace Creek). Some important PoIs are also present (like Solar One) but not every structure is present. I think there's a thread somewhere referencing some recognisable buildings (hotels, etc.). The ingame map layers are much more interesting for tactical use but SkyVector can be used for general navigation. And there's a detailed Groom Lake area, which is not on SkyVector at all (for obvious reasons). ED managed to dodge the MiBs so far ;) /// ВКБ: GF Pro MkII+MCG Pro/GF MkII+SCG L/Black Mamba MkIII/Gladiator/T-Rudder MkII | X-55 Rhino throttle/Saitek Throttle Quadrant | OpenTrack+UTC /// ZULU +4 /// /// "THE T3ASE": i9 9900K | 64 GB DDR4 | RTX 2080ti OC | 2 TB NVMe SSDs, 1 TB SATA SSD, 12 TB HDDs | Gigabyte DESIGNARE mobo ///
