WindWpn Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 I see the specs for DCS World2 lists Windows 7 or greater OS. Actually, Vista works too, thus recommend including it in the listing. The Rig: i5 7700k OC 4.6ghz, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1080ti, Windows 10 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

How is it performing under Vista as far as FPS, etc? I've also got Vista Ultimate with similar rig specs as yours and finally gave up last night after waiting what seemed like forever to load from the mission editor, realizing I hadn't set the mission up correctly and trying to exit which took another 5 minutes it seemed.
WindWpn Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 Works fine. no difference in experience from 1.5. Great FPS thus far, though i have not explored much yet in 2.0. The Rig: i5 7700k OC 4.6ghz, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1080ti, Windows 10 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Anatoli-Kagari9 Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Works fine. no difference in experience from 1.5. Great FPS thus far, though i have not explored much yet in 2.0. We need an Android version!!!! :D Flight Simulation is the Virtual Materialization of a Dream...

I'm going to try again tonight, I think I was having an "off" night last night after downloading and installing. A computer restart was probably in order after being on all day and downloading but I was too tired to try LOL!

Really, why do you still have vista installed? lol Win 10 is a free upgrade and work s great with everything! Vista was the Crappiest program Microsoft ever made! To each their own I guess, but I and Most others couldn't wait to get rid of Vista. It was probably the shortest lived operating system ever. -Woog
canadianbaken Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Dangit Woogey I was going to ask the same thing.

I have most of the "stuff" off and run Vista with a UI similar to XP for a clean functional interface. All in all, it has been running well for everything, including all my sim stuff. I will likely upgrade next year with a new SSD OS drive with Win7, but staying away from Win10 at this time. ~S~ wind The Rig: i5 7700k OC 4.6ghz, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1080ti, Windows 10 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

hews500d Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 ditto... Vista with all of the "stuff" off works fine for me as well. Is Win 10 free for Vista users as well? I was thinking it was free for the Win 7/8 people only.
VincentLaw Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Is Win 10 free for Vista users as well? No, it is not. The free Windows 10 upgrade is for Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 only. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

cichlidfan Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Shame Vista doesn't work in Vista.. Actually, from what I have read, skipped it myself, a fully patched/updated copy of Vista isn't bad at all. At that point it's nearly Win 7, FWIW. At that point it's nearly Win 7, FWIW. I ran it and was probably in the minority as I really like it, especially as it was my first true 64 bit OS. I never really had a problem with it, however it was a little bloated on resources, Win 7 was certainly leaner and meaner and a big improvement in that regard over Vista.
