Jackdaws Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Hi all... When i play 1.5 (before and after updates) the gameplay will always pause intermittently for a half second or so. Other than that i get beautiful frame rates and no other performance issues. If i watch my track back after a flight there is no pausing whatsoever. 2.0 Nevada seems to run just fine with no pausing. I have quite modest settings too, even if i turn the performance down the problem still occurs in 1.5. I have noticed quite a few 'stutter' threads on dcs, but i dont think my issue is a 'stutter' its definitely a momentary pause during gameplay. Happens with cocpit mode, F2 etc.. I'm at a loss. Any thoughts would be very helpful thank you. im running gtx970 nvidia, 16gig ram etc. More info can be provided if needed. Thank you! My Files..... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Ala12Rv-watermanpc Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 +1...I think that problem is due to the ultra saturation in the VRAM...but Im not sure...its a problem related with the low GPU/CPU usage I think... Take a look at my MODS here
bkthunder Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Hi, I have the same problem but I called it stuttering or freezing so far.. Anyways, what happens is that the game "pauses" for a few seconds when I switch to a different view, or when I look around. To me it seems this has to do with the loading of the terrain. e.g. when I first get into the cockpit, I have to wait about 30 seconds with huge pauses as I try to turn my head to make dcs "load" the terrain, so hopefull it won't pause again while I'm flying. bart Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 I have a similar issue with 2.0 since the first update. All is good in SP but MP is a struggle on the eyes. 1.5 is fine with my install. I have also being calling it stutter but I guess pausing is another way to describe it. Also happens in F2 view, and from the cockpit looking outside at anything moving and if I am stationary on the ramp and look at vehicles going along the road they do it too!! anything that's moving in the NTTR world has this really annoying stutter/pause issue in MP only though. Interestingly it only happens on servers that have targets on them, as I tried an aerobatic server yesterday and it was smooth as silk, I guess cause there were no targets loaded in the mission on the server..... Hope they get a fix for it soon..... :( System :- i7-12700K 3.6 GHz 12 core, ASUS ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming, 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200MHz, 24GB Asus ROG Strix Geforce RTX 3090, 1x 500GB Samsung 980 PRO M.2, 1x 2TB Samsung 980 PRO M.2, Corsair 1000W RMx Series Modular 80 Plus Gold PSU, Windows 10. Jackdaws Posted January 6, 2016 Author Posted January 6, 2016 Anymore info regarding this issue anyone? I now have GTX980ti and still this problem exists. I notice even if i zoom into the cockpit without any view outside showing.. it still pauses? Anymore info would be amazing! Thanks! My Files..... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
joey45 Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Are you using SSDs or HDDs The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Jackdaws Posted January 6, 2016 Author Posted January 6, 2016 Are you using SSDs or HDDs My OS is on HDD but all my game installs are on SSD. However my mission files etc will save to HDD by default. Does this mean my tracks would too? Maybe this is where the problem is? My Files..... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

If it is there and you do not use it shut it off Yes I do have shadow play and I can use it at anytime. I presume this means it's running in the background. I will turn it off and see what happens. FYI shadow play operates on my SSD drive only. Well at least that's where all the files save too. I'll report back and see if any change soon! Thanks guys. My Files..... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Yes but try disabling it in the Services, under administrator tools..I think it was Shield Streaming service?? either way it could be one of those cauing the issues.. flyinfriend Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Just to add and to vent...I am running 16gig of ram a gtx760 with 2 gig of ram and an i5 4670k running at 4.0. I miss DCS World 1.2 already. It always ran smoothly for me at high settings. Now in 1.5 even with all low settings I get constant pauses. I removed antivirus and all non-relevant apps from running. DCS World is now a giant stutter-fest. So frustrating. The TGP causes pauses when taking it out of stdby or slewing it to the SPI and looking around or quick maneuvering in the A10-C causes constant pauses and stuttering. I also have 2.0 running and that has the same issues. I hope the devs watch these forums and can resolve the issues. Bring back 1.2.

Yes I did this... Same problem exists.. Maybe it's just DCS? Or does the game meant to run smooth with no pausing? Is there away I can show a tech diagnostics from start to finish while running DCS? Then paste it so someone can better explain to me? I think I have seen people do this kind of thing before? Just don't know what it's called or how to do it? Thanks for the replies guys! Jackdaws Posted January 7, 2016 Author Posted January 7, 2016 (edited) And I would think you want to force the pagefile to be on the SSD and not the HD. Sure, would it be too much to ask how to do this? Thank you for the reply. EDIT, Ok so I have done this and set the page file to SSD. Hopefully this will make a difference? I have not selected a custom size as i dont know what to put? I have 16gig RAM. I have simply left the 'system managed size' ticked. Anymore advice is welcome. I will also mave my DCS saved games etc folder from my OS HDD to my game install SSD and see if that helps too? Ill report back my findings. Thanks! Edited January 8, 2016 by Jackdaws My Files..... Dappman Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 I also have this problem and its made the game unplayable. I'm not going to try anything to fix it because I know it isn't anything with my computer, no other game does this. They jumped the gun releasing 1.5 as stable. 1.2 never did this.

Yes i have tried all the above and it seems it is DCS. See i never played 1.2 as i came into DCS world just as 1.5 came out, so only a few weeks really. Thanks for the info, its actually made me feel better. I thought it was just me. My Files..... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Well you can make a video of it and we will see what you see.. there is no diagnosis to show from start ot finish only logs if the game crashes or similar.. I am wondering what CPU you have..NO DCS .5 is NOT supposed to Stutter or brief pauses.. Perhaps something wrong with your system in the way of optimized.. You said you have a NVidia video card goto NCP and post a screenshot of your 3D Settingsi under manage 3D Settings.. have you ever ran a stress test on your CPU and GPU?? Well the CPU could be good there are plenty of guides out there but I use Intel Burn Test and run it like 10 times whilie monitoring CPU Temps.. they should not get near 80c but the limit is in the iupper 90's if I remember right.. As for the GPU I use MSI Kombuster. it has several burn tests to check if the Vid card gets too hot or not.. It also has memory tests to run.. If you use a NVidia card get MSI Afterburner and you can set a custom Fan Profile to keep it running cooler then stock fan settings which is a bonus in my opinion.. Your PC should not be getting any stutters maybe in a really congested area but I would still say only the FPS would drop and not really get any serious stutters.. 1 Intel Ultra 265K 5.5GHZ / Gigabyte Z890 Aorus Elite / MSI 4070Ti Ventus 12GB / SoundBlaster Z SoundCard / Corsair Vengance 64GB Ram / HP Reverb G2 / Samsung 980 Pro 2TB Games / Crucial 512GB M.2 Win 11 Pro 21H2 / ButtKicker Gamer / CoolerMaster TD500 Mesh V2 PC Case
