So I uninstalled 1.2 the other day as I was running out of disk space but still have 1.5.2.48726 & 2.0.0.48763.61 installed when it comes to DCS. Is there anything I need to in regards to 1.52 becoming public release? My main directory says "DCS World OpenBeta" for 1.52. Do I need to reinstall or anything?

Download the new release installer. It's about 7 meg. It'll install some core files, then it'll pull as many files as it can from your Open Beta (1.5.2.4xxx) and Alpha (2.0) installs, hopefully meaning you won't have to download anything.

The today's release is completely identical to the latest openbeta. The openbeta will continue to be ahead of the release versions or on par with them.

Ok, so I have 1.2, 1.5 Open Beta, and 2.0 Open Alpha installed on my computer. I haven't run 1.2 in a while, and my 1.5 Beta is up to date (when I run the updater, it says 1.5.2.48726.137). I've been using 1.5 Beta for a while now, I've tweaked and updated my control profiles in 1.5 Beta (and 2.0 Alpha) and I've got two campaigns running in 1.5 Beta, and obviously (and most importantly) it's installed and running just fine (I'm not saying that updating 1.2 to 1.5 is going to mess with the installation, just that Murphy's Law exists for a reason).

So would I be just fine if I uninstalled my 1.2 installation, and kept my 1.5 Beta installation, and of course kept running the updater as needed, etc? It won't cause any problems for me, other than possibly getting updated more frequently and ahead of the stable release version?

Given the release 1.5 and Open Beta 1.5 are the same I take it that we are safe to copy across our Open Beta config files, missions etc, to the release version?

Just to be clear, I'm talking about copying across the contents of:

C:\users\me\Saved Games\DCS.Openbeta

over the top of:

C:\users\me\Saved Games\DCS

Did my 1.5 open beta just technically turn into the full release version? Can't I just use it as my main now and delete 1.2? I prefer to keep using 1.5 where the open beta was. I'm lazy and it seems to work fine. Will it keep updating though? ;)

I just updated my 1.2 to 1.5 using the1.2's built-in updater. After, I deleted the 1.5 beta via control panel. And now, every time I fire up DCS World, I blue screen to: APC_INDEX_MISMATCH

repair didn't do anything. I don't have SweetFX installed.

Anyone else seeing that?

It's an OS kernel-level error. Most likely a faulty DX11 driver.

Technically, you can see these 'release', 'openbeta', 'openalpha' as update channels which the builds of DCS are distributed through. We call these - branches.

So, for example, build 1.5.2.48726.137 was released to the openbeta branch first. And yesterday we pushed the very same build to the release branch.

They are essentially the same build of the DCS, byte-identical.

@c0ff: When NTTR and Blacksea become compatible, can we expect the merge to happen on the 2.0 alpha branch first, or on the open beta branch first?

1.5 uses so-called T3 terrain tech, while 2.0 - T4.

The short-term plan is to use 1.5 openbeta for pre-release updates, as it always was, and 2.0 for all T4 development. When T4 Caucasus will be good enough for openbeta, i.e. relatively close to a release, we will push 2.0 to openbeta and drop the openalpha until some bright future far far away :)

So I want to download DCS 1.5/2.0 Nevada + modules on another PC put it on a USB drive then install on my home PC which has slower more limited internet. With DCS 1.2.16 it was easy using the game files how can this be done with DCS1.5/2.0 Nevada?

Can you just download it onto a USB drive and then install it on another PC?

Also how long might it be until DCS2.0 is the only version?

Well, that's not as straightforward as it used to be, but doable. Just install what you need on that "another PC" and then move the files and the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\ and/or \DCS World 2 OpenAlpha\ registry part to your "home PC".

The official "offline" installers are not completely out of the picture, but are not currently available.

Thanks and can I just say big fan of the offline installer files as you call them as they are easy to use just download DCS World and the modules you want and install, easier and more reliable IMO.

It's also a good way to have a copy of the game on a backup drive so if anything goes wrong with the game or your primary drive you can easily do a fresh install.

Spot on mate!

Hope, ED bring back the offline installers.

That would make things easier for a lot of people.

DCS World 1.5.2 released now!

‎December-‎29-‎15, ‏‎8:29:00 AM

Please use DCS Updater to update current DCS 1.2.16 to DCS 1.5.2.

Note. All products (modules) should be installed via ingame Module Manager only. Dedicated installers will not be provided anymore.

This seems like an old update but I just got the notice today to use it...what is this update for, I just did an update a few days ago to version 1.5.2.48726.137?

Thank you.

I think all the issues will be solved once DCS 1.5.2 is updated to the next release version!

Yes, but I'm asking because I can't be the only one that is having this problem, right? Otherwise, it's some update that occurred on my rig w/o my knowing, like a sneaky MS or Nvidia update that didn't announce itself. Which I find highly doubtful. The only change that occurred was the 1.2 to 1.5GA update.

Hence the question.
