Yup, the Russians aren't all that different from us in America. That guy in the last photo on the 1st page, walking aft on the 25UTG...he could EASILY pass for a senior NCO in the USAF. The sad thing is (although not sad for him, at ALL), he had better beer to give him that gut. :D

Yes, there is a ski-jump alright ;) Note the barrel-shaped radar on the tower, it's of the same type as on the Kuznetsov too.

 

NITKA would be a sweet addition to LOMAC, same for the emergency barrier on the Kuz (and NITKA?).

Beautiful shots, hard to find such high quality of Flankers at home!

 

The paint job on SU #68 sure is sharp! Wish somebody could skin up a nice vibrant blue camo such as that on the Flanker.

heh..I see what you mean. I guess there are 2 #68 Flankers.

 

The Paintjob on the second 68 is distinguishingly sharp.

If anybody is interested, on Google Maps Saki airbase is high-resolution – you can clearly see the landing zone with front-rear deck edges marked, also the ski-jump ramp on the other end of the runway. You can even see the arresting cables – just paste in those coordinates
