The_Pharoah Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 (edited) Please ED....please give us bigger and better explosions. The explosions you currently see from a GBU-12, which is a massive 500lb bomb, is crappy. This is what I'm talking about: [ame] [/ame] ie. large explosion, etc. The current explosion effects we have in DCS needs some loving big time, esp on the NTTR map with sand/dust that should be thrown up. Dav IRL Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 The game needs more fx particles. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk 4.8 I7, 1080, TMW&T, SSD, VKB MK.IV.

mytai01 Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 It's all about computer horse power. But, it would be nice if the option to select hyper realistic effects existed. Cik Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 bombs in general need a lot of work. effects are wimpy and effect on target likewise. BMP1s survive near misses, it's totally bizarre
WelshZeCorgi Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Not 100% sure, but didn't wags say that they are working on all pyrotechnic effects (explosions, fire) and will release the improvements DCS 2.0?
Vivoune Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 They are redoing the grass/clutters, clouds and most effects (explosions being one of them). It hasn't been stated when nor to what extent. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Frogisis Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 People have been making convincing-looking explosions in games for decades; I think it's less a matter of technology than a desire to avoid accusations that people's serious, sober study sim is turning into a Michael Bay movie. But I've read accounts from real pilots saying they were surprised by how "Hollywood" even an AMRAAM hit looked, so I say pull out all the stops and let the FX artists give us the most photogenic pyrotechnics their reference footage allows. For when it goes wrong: Win10x64, GTX1080, Intel i7 @3.5 GHz, 32GB DDR3, Warthog HOTAS, Saitek combat rudder pedals, TrackIR 5 / Vive Pro, a case of Pabst, The Funk
Ala12Rv-watermanpc Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) Yes, explosions should get a total overhauling...and not only explosion but also the smoke effect of them and a "side effect" when they happen, the shadow of the smoke column...this is very important and I hope they are concerned about that as this is key to perfectly LOCATE the exact point of the explosion...and because all smoke columns in game right now look really weird not being affected in any way by the environment's light (nor casting shadows) indeed, it would be verynice to make all smoke systems to cast shadows, so I hope they add this "feature" In this video you can see how the lack of shadows in the smoke columns look quite odd: Looking forward for something like this: Edited January 30, 2016 by watermanpc Take a look at my MODS here
Gr00v3r Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Hi guys please confirm if the explosions shown in the Red Flag trailer for the A-10 and L39Z are the "ENHANCED EXPLOSIONS" that are expected to be released? Intel i7 4790K, 16GB DDR3 1600, GIGABYTE GTX 970G1, Win 7 x64, X-55 HOTAS :bye_2:
