Not sure what the issue is of having to wait a bit for some more updates? Just look forward to the next update, then, which will be more comprehensive - by definition. :)

The problem is that third party mode rely on those updates from ED. There were few recurrent updates from third party devs in the past, in fact there were few mods at all.

People love easy comparisons without wanting to have a tiny deeper look at what they compare.

Problem might be taht ED at some point kind of promised to issue updates once a week.

last friday we saw nothing, this friday also nothing.

We can see in the changelogs by some 3rd party dev's that quite a number of issues with their modules has been fixed and only awaits ED to bring them to the people via an update.

I do know that alot probably needs to be brought together for a stable update, but I wonder wy some - or most - of these fixes couldn´t be released for DCS 2.0 Alpha and 1-5-3 Beta., leaving 1.5.3 stable unaffected.

It must also be a PITA for the 3rd party dev's not to see their worl be brought on to the masses for testing.

Seeing that posts made by Flagrum has been deleted is also not good. He above all has shown a poitive attitude all the way during tha last years and is to be found amongst the most helpfull and pro DCS member in this forum - that makes no sense for me.

I don´t hope ED is going down the same lina as other sites, where Censcorising posts is the normal order of the day.

People don't wait for ED fixes. People wait for fixes of third party devs, namely Razbam and Polychops. If they could release only their fixes, I doubt anybody would complain that we don't have full DCS updates. And That's why people expect recurrent updates, not that they want to be spoiled

They promised news weekly, not DCS updates.

I think the only problem here is that ED adopted some sort of a code of silence...

Maybe if they said something about not having updates in the upcoming weeks, people around here would be more calm...

Something like "we are not releasing no updates in the next weeks, because we are under a heavier workload" might help calming people down... Even if nothing was promised by ED...

Their silence might give the idea of some arrogance from them... and yes, I know some users can't stand the absense of deadlines....

Read again please. I said they didn't promise update of the game. Only weekly news.

Although it's being called weekly news I don't ever recall that ever being promised weekly also.

Wags said in one stream there will be short weekly news. If that's not a promise then what is it?

Until now there was every Friday a newsletter sometimes they said very little but still something.

I understand you try to lower expectations as much as you can but the topic are DCS updates not news.

My opinion is that it's totally fine if ED doesn't update for a couple of weeks. I'm sure they are not sitting around doing nothing but are quite busy.

I only hope one day the architecture improve and allows independent mods that doesn't require ED to test changes of third party devs before updating. Maybe in DCS 3 maybe later.

That's my opinion, I'm out

Its not a promise. They would try their best for weekly new updates, and patches, but it wont always work out.

Wags promised me he would never use the word promise ;)

:D well yeah he didn't say "we promise" that would sound lame :D

I hope we get the 2.5 soon and we get the Mirage out of Beta so we don't need recurrent updates.

Speaking for myself I have no problem with your opinion and I tend to lean to the side of agreeing with you a bit. I just wanted a hard reference on where the promise came from. To be honest since the beginning of the year I can't recall a weekend where we didn't have any news and for the most part I have now come to expect it, but Matt's famous signature keeps coming to mind "EVERYTHING IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE" and that trumps my expectations.

A wise move in this community!

Hey Sith do you think it's possible that Matt may touch on 2.5 progress a little bit in tomorrows live stream? :music_whistling:

It was in one of the streams but of course any professional wouldn't say "I promise" and I was talking about the "news" which is not the topic at all. They have been pushing news every Friday.

Regarding 2.5, check out his last stream about VR in A10C

He switches between Caucausus and NTTR maps. I believe it is indeed 2.5 (I'm not sure if he said it actually)

"promised" ...

Continue this line, fill in the values for X, Y and Z :smartass::

1 3 7 15 31 63 x y z ...

Solution:

Answer x=127 y=255 z=511 is wrong!

I never promised that I would not change the rule and the correct answer is z=7 (we just skip x and y. Hrm? Because EVERYTHING IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE ...)

:D

127, 255, 511 or generally . . . . . . 2 weeks. :)
