CCIP low pass technique on M2000C

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

It's a little difficult now to hit something bombing on M2000C. CCRP isn't very accurate, CCIP has a very big angle and You need a high altitude. INS for GBU is on WiP. After practice of some techniques (CCRP, CCIP dive bombing) for me the best result has CCIP in low pass (to see the impact point pointer before Your nose). Speed near 550-600kts, H: 500-1000 radar alt.

The video (Mk.82 "Snake Eye"):

Only issue is that a Mk82 in DCS landing 5m away from a URAL track wont kill it, heck make that a GBU24. I cant wait for the explosive fix which is desperately needed.

At the moment for the attack pattern you are using try the MK20. It has the same effect as the Mk82 but covers a wider area, i would use 80 timer for the drops works really great.

Hello yoyo,

Can you upload your video without music because i can't watch it. This music is maybe against the rights (GEMA) here in germany. It would be really nice

YoYo have you found a minimum for the Mk.82S? It seems online if I drop them very low they dont go off.

I guess the fuze settings are too long, probably preset on the ground by the ground crew. We need to know what it is and if it can be changed in the mission editor.

Hey Yoyo,

may i ask, what you have set in the bombspanel below the HSI? Regarding the numbers 06 and 08 etc.?

Also what I noticed this night when I was dropping them snake eyes is that no matter how perfectly the pipper was brought on the target (550-600kts @500-2000ft) my bombs allways hit short of the target. I'd guess around 30m and that every singe time. Any thoughts on this? I'm confussed because usually there isn't any problem doing the low passes...

Wouldn't it be risky if it was a combat scenario ? I mean, it would be quite risky in A-10C and it's pretty armoured. If I am right your are attacking BTR-80s and overflying the target? They do have machine guns.

Just a thought.

I guess by the time they noticed your exact position you've already passed them. Also I don't expect them to be able to follow you fast enough. I'd say usually if they really hit you they are really lucky...

The actual danger here is that if this was a combat scenario would be possible manpads etc you might not know about. :music_whistling:

Yeaa....maybe I am too used to attack in a slower aircraft like the A-10 :-) I still think it's risky.

On the other hand the AI are quite capable of tracking and accurate firing, IMO more than they would in RL. But that's just my feeling, I am not a military.

With the mirage you can bolter quite low over your target, and on egress you will notice some bullets, with the same speed as you have, next to your plane - just wave them and go on ;)

Check it, the speed here is Your seat belt :]. Here it was near 600 kts, A-10 has a near 300-350 for appropriate attack. It will be risky with ground to air missiles for sure but dont forget to ask SEAD in this situation ;).

Quantity of dropped bombs = 6 (8 I clicked accidentally). Dont forget to turn on radar alt. This affects the accuracy of hit the target.

Pretty sure that in the 'DCS Reality' you would be full of bullet holes from those BTR`s if you try a low pass like that against hostile targets.

Not at all - in dcs you can make a low fast pass over a multiple zsu and shilkas - the first pass is really save, the aaa need time to track you, then you are already on egress - but if they track you before the roll in... Good luck

Then just wait a minute, rush in from an other direction and have fun.

But the one pass haul ass tactic is really effective with the m2k

Hey Mosquito, it is soo difficult to move to a pointy nose after having flown the Hog for so long, isn't it? Thanks YoYo, will give this a try!

Yes, I have been practicing attacking a defended airfield against ZSU's SA 3 ad SA 9's and if you come in low and fast it is very survivable. I am just trying to find the sweet spot in altitude that allows for the Mk 82S to arm before they hit the ground but is low enough to not get launched on.
