Request for some voice acting.

I'd be very grateful if someone could help me out with some voice-overs for a mission I'm creating. I need someone to act the part of a US AWACS controller so someone with a 'commanding' voice would be absolutely ideal.

 

Here are the lines I need:

 

1: "Ford flight this is Darkstar, be advised, new popup groups bearing east north east for 170 Km, altitude 6000 metres, flanking. These are probably the targets we were briefed about. Continue with your patrol and monitor your data links. You are authorised to engage targets."

 

2: "Ford flight, Darkstar, well done, the first groups of targets have been destroyed. New pop up groups now, entering Caliente Charlie airspace from the east, altitude 7000 metres, hot. You are cleared to engage."

 

3: "Ford flight, Darkstar, well done, all HVAA targets have been destroyed. The picture is clean, return to base."

Got the wrong accent, so not applying for voice acting here, but I've got a few questions and remarks nonetheless (thinking that, in case you release the mission to the public, I might fly it one day). :smartass:

Shouldn't it be nautical miles (or just "nautical") instead of kilometers from a US AWACS?

 

Angels 60... wow... Is it a Blackbird intercept? :D

 

But seriously, not many aircraft can get that high. Just double-checking that that's intended (same for "Angels 70" in the next line).

 

Lastly, "probably the targets [...] You are authorised to engage targets." sounds like rather liberal ROE. Not sure what type of realism you aim for, but maybe something like "no friendly and no civilian traffic in that area, cleared to engage" would sound a little better?

 

Sorry for the nitpicking, but test-flying other missions in the past seems to have left me with an unstoppable desire to point out these types of details. :music_whistling: :smilewink:

I think from a US aircraft, nautical miles are assumed to be the unit of measurement and aren't even mentioned, nor is bearing...just "030 for 25."

 

I sense we may have a special case on our hands though, as no one is monitoring their datalink in the F-15...in which case a call in kilometers would be appropriate..altitude is definitely up there, though! Did you mean 60,000 and 70,000 feet AGL? Also, if we are giving our BRAA call in KM perhaps altitude should be expressed in thousands of meters rather than thousands of feet to reduce pilot workload. (conversions suck :lol: )

No worries :) It's actually an aggressor AWACS fighter controller communicating with an Aggressor Su-27 pilot, so he's trying hard to sound WarPac, hence the Km and altitude in metres. And yes, it should be Angels 6 & 7 rather than 60 & 70 :shocking:

Yep, just saying "at 6000 metres" would be correct. Not sure what I was thinking saying "angels" which is indeed always a reference to altitude in feet.
