Auto updater doesn't download DCS 1.5.3.51171

When I press the 'Update DCS World' link the auto updater says the installed version 1.5.3.50487.22 is up to date and doesn't see DCS 1.5.3.51171 to download.

There is a web link to download the update but that's only if you are downloading for the first time.

Any idea what the problem is?

Which version are you trying to update? The current update only applies to the Open Beta.

The patch was for Open beta only.

So if you have the Release version you will still have 1.5.3.50487.

Maybe thats the case but it could have been helpful mentioning that in the announcement.

So for now if you want he latest update you have to get the Open beta =P.

(i did because i wanted the M-2000 update so bad)

But no stable version :(, in the newsletter was mistake.

Till now no stable version, open beta only and miss this words :/.

I can update to the latest version released yesterday, but I am updating to a beta branch, from a stable version... Any problem with this ?

Where's the bit about the beta version?

DCS World 1.5.3 Update 1

Today we will release the Update 1 for DCS World version 1.5.3. The fixes and additions to this update are numerous, but highlights include:

Fixes and improvements to the F-86F, MiG-15bis, Bf 109 K-4, and Fw 190 D-9
Fixes and changes to Combined Arms
Improved localization for Russian and Chinese versions

And many other changes that will be listed in the 1.5.3 Update 1 changelog.

Please use the auto updater to update your existing DCS World installation. If you will be installing DCS World for the first time, please go to: DCS World download page

ED made a mistake, and has not seen fit to edit the post for some unknown reason. The fact that the link is to the download for the released version only makes the matter worse.

Yes. It should work just fine. Personally, I prefer to use the disk space and maintain both version but that is safe to do, as is the reverse if you change your mind later.

I just noticed, the servers available in 1.5.3 release version are different than the ones in the 1.5.3 beta.

One Should Automatically assume that a NEW Build will hit open beta branch first to check for any major issues before trickling to the release branch..

it's what the Open Beta Branch is there for.

That being said, it's the weekend, if anything in the content of the post was going to change, it will happen likely on monday.

Mistake from ED.

Strange because they always released OPEN BETA patches in the middle of week, Friday - stable version.

Till now no the new version for stable.

@the last version of Mirage 2000C in stable v.1.5.3 is from 3 weeks ago!

Totaly agree man, but what, on my side got me confused is, as you can see on my screenshot, loading 1.5.3.50487, got me the left pop-up about update, which never came up to me it didn't conccern the build i was loading at the moment,i didn't even know there was still a 1.5 beta when 1.5 was realease, good to know. :) We always learn new stuff everyday.
