silenthunter183 Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Hi there. I have strange problem. I have good FPS in BS2 wihout skhval engaged. Also i have good FPS with looking with it. But every time, when my computer has to render any special effect in skhval (most common is explosion after hit, sometimes when vehicle is in move or is shooting) it causes HUGE fps drop for few seconds (until smoke dissapears). This is really annoying, especially when you have to brake after attack and I don't have time to fastly reset my skhval. Anyone know good fix to that? E.g. disabling or lowering effects rendered in skhval? Or maybe I have to lower some other settings? Regards.
Rowan Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Same problem for me, I was going to try and lower my cockpit RES. OF COCKPIT DISPLAYS to 512 from 1024 and see if that helps, I just keep forgetting to do it when I launch a mission.
Sryan Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 what cockpit display resolution do you use and are you forcing it to render every frame? Check my F-15C guide

BodyOrgan Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 I had mine set to 1024 every frame, and it works fine with some servers, but on others not so much. Ultimately I had to drop it to 512 (not every frame) to get adequate performance (still drops a good bit of frames, but it's manageable) on most servers.
Rogue Trooper Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 I set mine to 1024 (not every frame). The FPS tends to start dropping off as your vikher approaches the target and then gets the worst at impact and holds there for a few seconds, then it gradually returns to normal FPS. It is a bug that did not occur before 1.5 and 2.0 or it was not as noticeable. BitMaster Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 I keep fumbling with this setting to, right now 1024 ( not every frame ). Allows 60-90fps in Ka50, worst case is 45-55 heavy battle lots of effects and ABRIS in its worst mode for the Geforce. But if I go 1024 every frame I drop to a mere 40-50 pretty quick for most scenes with abris on. I dont see any difference at all on my 27" 1440p. I may had to take screenshots and compare to see the diff, if any at all. Quaggles Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 The reason this occurs during Vikhr engagement is that as the rocket motor burns it puts out the smoke particle effect, if the Ka-50 is stationary (Such as in autohover) then the amount of smoke being rendered keeps increasing as the Vikhr moves away from the camera down it's line of sight. If you do Vikhr runs while on the move (Or while moving up or down slowly in autohover) you won't have this issue. Solutions are to lower the Shkval resolution, mod the smoke to disappear faster or move a little after you fire every Vikhr.
ShuRugal Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 This might sound like a silly question, but what is your graphics card/processor vendor, and are your drivers up to date? I do NOT see any frame rate loss when killing things with my shkval on them and I'm playing on a laptop (I7 processor, GTX 780M). My frames have been pegged at my v-synch cap since 1.5 dropped.
