DaveRindner Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Just a minor observation. I do not hear ignitor spark click during engine start. Aside from unexplained hot starts and unexplained aborts, its all good.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted March 22, 2016 ED Team Posted March 22, 2016 which version are you running DaveRindner? I just checked the open beta and seems to be ok for me Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Penshoon Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Have you checked the hear like in helmet option? Otter
huey427 Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Hi, New to DCS and UH-1. Learning, reading and enjoying. I too have the same symptom during startup...no ignitor sound. Running 1.5.3 on a Win 7 platform. Have the helmet option checked. Wonder if DaveRinder resolved it? Thanks,
escaner Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 When exactly should that sound? I am now flying the UN pilot campaign and unfortunately the helo is already started, but want to check it, as I never noticed it, [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
enigma6584 Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 which version are you running DaveRindner? I just checked the open beta and seems to be ok for me I can confirm this. It is the latest "official version" of 1.5. I lost that "tick, tick, tick" start-up sound right after the latest update a few days ago.
CrimsonGhost Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 I'm just spitballing here, but if you have the "Hear like a helmet" option checked, you wouldn't (shouldn't) hear the igniters firing. Yes, IRL they are loud, but if your simulating that your wearing a well insulated helmet, all you will hear will be whatever comms you are tuned too. That and faint background noises. i7-7700K @ 5.2Ghz SLI 1080Ti 64GB GSkill Trident Z RGB 4133 Asus Maximus IX Extreme Custom Water Cooling Loop TM Warthog/ MFG Crosswind

Hi CrimsonGhost. I double-checked. I do not have the "hear like a helmet" implemented. I also yesterday, hit the "repair" executable for DCS World just in case it might actually fix it. It did not. Anyone else having this issue? Edited April 13, 2016 by enigma6584
Kelevra9987 Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 I can't really remember that I heard that clicking sound for a while now... I will check it tomorrow but for now I have to get some sleep. Bearfoot Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 (edited) I thought it had disappeared, too. But then, when running 2.0A, I heard it. It's much softer then before. Much. Especially with the door closed. You really have to strain to catch it. But it's there. Also, I should note that I am running Skullz's EXCELLENT and highly-recommended sound mod (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=159801), but IIRC, I noted the same thing without the mod as well. EDIT: not there in 1.5 with our without Skullz's sound mod, or, if it is, I cannot hear it over the sound of everything else. EDIT 2: In 1.5, removed all the mods, ran a "Repair", and now its there, loud and clear, both using Skullz's sounds and stock (and, in fact, it seems much louder with stock than Skullz's mod).
