Jamesp1 Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I'm thinking of buying this, but looking back through the last few pages of posts, I can't find anything discussing the current state of the module: Can anyone give me a quick heads-up of what functionality is in-flux/broken and missing? Also I believe the campaign is coming soon, but what about training & missions? Thanks
baltic_dragon Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Hey Jamesp1, As a person working on the campaign I can't really comment in depth on other aspects (I know that one big thing to implement still is the INS functionality, but there are some tweaks to be done to other aspects, like countermeasures, jammer, RWR and radar). The campaign will be released with the final version of the module and it will contain a training part, which will also be available in the set of separate training missions. ATM 10 out of 12 campaign missions are ready, last two are nicely coming together. After that intensive beta testing and tweaks. But to answer your question - I would consider getting the module already, it is great fun to fly and most of the important systems are there and working! flying rabbit Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Its already use and enjoyable. The weaponsystems are working, the flightmodel is fun, the cockpit and external model is nearly outstanding. I would watch a few videos on youtube from 2016 and see if it fits your needs. I just bought the mirage on sale and would buy it again. :)
Aginor Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I'd also say it is worth it. It isn't quite finished yet. Some tweaks on the flight model are ongoing, and also what the guys said above: some systems are implemented in a basic way and are getting improved. Still it is loads of fun already and you can basically do everything that you will be able to do with the finished module, although maybe the way you do it might change a little during the ongoing development. Rlaxoxo Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 About 83.71% finished It's a cool and fun plane [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Youtube Reddit
Dave317 Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I was quite reluctant to buy because I didn't really have much interest in french aircraft. I bought it in the last sale and I'm very glad I did. As said it's not finished yet but it is still very usable and fun to learn and fly. If Baltic Dragons campaign is half as good as his A10 one then the module is worth getting just for that. Definitely my favourite plane at the minute.
BaconSarnie Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Im utterly in love with it, and Im a dyed in the wool mud mover who used to refuse to fly anything other than the A10. Every patch something new is added, something fiddle with and improved and something polished etc. Its also proving very easy to learn, as you arent sat there over faced with systems, dials and buttons right from the get go. By that I mean Im managing to learn it easier as it seems like every update a new system is added or improved upon, as I said, so its a case of learning something new each time if you get me. You get to work with a system and learn its ins and outs, then next update something changes or is added and you then learn that. Its rapidly becoming my favourite module. I would definitely recommend getting it. splash Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 This module is great and will give lots of fun. Developers are continuously adding new features and solving bugs and are very open to the community. It's the only fighter with clickable cockpit in DCS and a must-have in my opinion. Currently it doesn't have any bundled campaign, but baltic_dragon is creating it and that is a warranty of quality.
Jamesp1 Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 Thanks everyone - yes it's partly that clickable cockpit in a 4th gen fighter that I really want. I was surprised how much I missed clicking in the F-15C! @baltic_dragon: That this module will have a good campaign is a big plus for me; I'll probably play most/all of your campaigns in the future, and am looking forward to when more campaigns and missions start moving onto NTTR. Hmm, I think I'll get this when I finish the A-10C red flag campaign then :-)

The bundled campaign will have 12 missions with +/- 1200 lines of voiceovers, included training part and (I hope) entertaining plot. You will fly as a USAF exchange pilot in a political situation which quickly gets out of hand. Later on a separate DLC campaing for Nevada is in the plans for M2000C (probably around 6 months after the initial campaign is released, it takes time to create one :). Aeons Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I have every single module in DCS. This is my favorite for sure currently. Since IFF has been implemented its the only plane I have been flying. Razbam have done a great job and keep us updated all the time. compare that to some other developers and you will understand that this is much appreciated and I will purchase future modules from them as opposed to other developers who promise so much and deliver so little even after 1 year.
Nooch Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 But still no PFM, right? I am waiting for the PFM to come out before I purchase the Mirage. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Evilducky Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 It has an EFM (which is the 3rd parties version of the PFM). Actually they did a really good job on it and even though there are still bugs in it currently, if you read a round, cpt. smiley is listening and fixing the bugs in the flight model (Im looking at you spinning plane with the 2 wing tanks on.. I cannot wait to get his fix in for that.)
Rlaxoxo Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 :lol::lol: Wasn't it .69? :D Well that's without modifications if you know what i mean ^^ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Youtube Reddit

Rlaxoxo Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 But still no PFM, right? I am waiting for the PFM to come out before I purchase the Mirage. You really think a Mirage will be signed off by real pilots? Maybe in a decade [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Youtube Reddit
blackasdf Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Can't really say much about the plane, we aren't in a good relationship :D But when baltic dragon makes a campaign you can be sure it will be one of the most fun and immersive thing you can ever play in DCS. Simple as that. If u ever played the enemy within for the A10-C you know what i'm talking about, if u didnt prepare yourself to experience a whole new level of fun. So in the end, IF you are not impressed by the module itself Baltic Dragon's campaign will make it worth the money :) 1
mattebubben Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 This aircraft is great. Especially after the latest patches. And i can do nothing but recommend it. Its now competitive in MP and will get even better when the last Radar kinks get fixed and we get a Radar slave function for the Magic II. The flight model is amazing and its a joy to fly. All in all the Mirage is the Favorite of all the Modules i own. And its the only fighter i fly at the moment.

TomCatMucDe Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 But still no PFM, right? I am waiting for the PFM to come out before I purchase the Mirage. you are confusing yourself. PFM is exclusive to ED and their partner Belsmitek. Other thirdparty devs can do EFM, the quality of the EFM depends on them. The MiG21 and Mirage2000 therefore have an EFM, and they are both excellent.
