Very nice, it's actually quite surprising nobody made this scheme yet! :)

I'll give you a painting tip:

1. Find easily identifiable elements like panel lines, fairings, edges.

2. Watch the relation between those elements and what you're painting.

3. Confirm that those elements are actually placed correctly on the model; sometimes they're not and you have to give up some accuracy. Models are not perfect.

Hopefully this will make things easier for you or anyone else. :)

Hello George,

Thanks for your explanations and your photo it's really precious and now I can fix few elements.

Please do you know where I can find the two stairs or two ladders who appear when the canopies are open because I want paint in yellow color one part of these ladders as I can see in the video of Breitling ?

I've looking for here but nothing: C:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\CoreMods\aircraft\L-39\Textures\L-39_C.zip

One idea where I can find the textures of these ladders ?

George if you have other photos and tips please can you post here your informations ?

Once again a great thanks, Skull.

EDIT:

I'm not sure but is it possible that the textures are here:

I get plenty of photos from flickr usually, a lot of photographers upload there in very high resolution. Just search "l39 breitling", "l-39c bretling", "breitling jet team" and so on. Then google images, wikimedia commons, picture sites like airliners, airfighters... Key is to get creative with the wording. Sometimes searching by serial number helps. Or the airplane was on certain airshow during certain year. Or it's stationed on certain base. I spend hours only searching for photos.

Ladders should be L39C_DIFF_2.dds (material L-39C_2) here maybe:

attachment.php?attachmentid=137990&stc=1&d=1459893860

...but I'm not sure if this is 100% correct. By the way, that might be still WIP, but I think the plane should be more reflective. You can use specular from Russ Jet Team default paint, just clean up those letters there. Cheers.

Looking good. Need to bump that specular map up though, these jets are super shiny IRL.

Hello guys,

Once again George thanks for your explanation it's perfect +1

Blaze yes you have right but I'm not rally good with a specular textures...

This morning I've make few test and here the method for try to obtain the best result but it's not easy:

I've read this topic: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=88855

I read the tips of Robo. post #4:

With Photoshop I've loaded this image: L39C_DIFF_White Russ_1.dds

After this I've used ---> ADJUSTMENTS ---> DESATURE or using shortcut CTRL+SHIFT+U

After I've clicked "CHANNELS" and I

After this I've selected just blue channel (Ctrl+5) and inverted the blue channel IMAGE ---> ADJUSTMENTS ---> INVERT (or Ctrl+I)

Guys I join you this ZIP file, you can find the test from this morning.

If you have any tips, information for make the most shining effect with my repaint please can you post here ?

Well there's already one black reflective paint, Russ. So the easiest thing to do is to just take the specular texture from there and that's it, only get rid of those letters on the side. No need to do it from scratch (but that's just how I do it because I'm lazy). And if you want to, you're supposed to turn off everything you painted and leave only basic things like panel lines etc. And invert green. And don't leave background black either.

Basically, this is the most helpful post in that thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1465685&postcount=11

You have the color picker tool so you can read RGB values of the texture. If you want reflective paint, blue value needs to be as high as possible. So if you pick the color and it's like 186/122/51... you can see that it's obviously very matte with blue being 51. Or you can see the blue channel is being dark.

Alignment looks better, maybe I would move ING a little bit down (that's UP on your image), so the N is not touching that little intake. I found better photo that shows the I might be a little bit back too? And L touches the fairing with its serif. But like I said, the model might have different dimensions so just play with it until you're happy and it looks believable. There will always be some inaccuracy and that's OK as long it's not by a whole meter. Don't pay attention to my image too much, but to what your eyes see :)

Hi,

George once again a great thanks for your precious assistance, it's incredible !!!!

I've changing the color of the airbrakes, front door, rear left door and rear right door, everything is painted with a white color.

White color is good or better the same grey colors as under wings ?

Also I've fix the Breitling logo under the L-39 and I would like to know if you like this new version ?

Flying Rabbit concerning the Breitling logo on the border of the frame I change this in few minutes...

And here the link to this new version as you can see with these last screenshots: https://www.dropbox.com/s/tmqkv006glwbtud/Breitling%20Skull%203.rar?dl=0

It might be hard to judge from photos sometimes, but to me the doors look light grey rather than white.

More things: Yellow stripe on the tanks should be outlined

I would make the rivets less white, those jets are pretty clean. Bring down opacity or change blending mode

Don't forget the registration under the wing if it's not there already

Check all the text labels on the plane, many are not present on the real bird. Nothing should be written under the wing for example. If you want to get fancy, there's a LOM PRAHA logo in the back. Details details details, photos should be there, it's tedious work that takes time, but it's worth it. Although I get that finding black labels on a black plane is painful.

It's coming along nicely though, I like that you're doing things like helmets too :)

Hi guys,

Thanks George for all these tips, it's perfect and the next job for me...

Concerning the doors I've found these two photos and I've tested with a grey light and it's really better than white.

Hi Morpheus,

Yes the other numbers are made also in the same time that the number 3 as you can watch with this short video.

The problem for me is the specular texture, it's very hard for me to have the best rendering...

Here my short video: [ame]

Well I return working with these textures... Skull

I'm improving my livery tool to include the analysis of norm and spec layers, so you will get almost full lua (if needed, i will also include the texture line for damage)

Thanks
