OldE24
I am wondering what is the performance on 1070 vs 1080 on 2K monitor in DCS.. Is it better to have 2x 1070's vs one 1080.. ? Thx no it's ALAWYS better to have ONE high end video card as SLI is more trouble then it is worth. 8700k@4.7 32GB ram, 1080TI hybrid SC2

Hadwell
yeah, i'm working on shortening my opinion of SLI down as much as i can... heres my next attempt... SLI is for adding performance to 1 good card, SLI is not a substitute for 1 good card, because all games work well with 1 good card, and SLI is really game dependant. SLIing 1080s is more worth it, because if you have to disable SLI, a single 1080 is still badass, though maybe when the 1080s price drops... Actually running the more graphics intensive games, Crysis, Far Cry etc on Ultra graphics in 4K will run both my Titan X cards up to 99% So when I upgrade I'll get 2x 1080s :gun_smilie: i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | 24GB GeForce RTX 4090 | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR

rrohde
Got my MSI GTX 1080 late last month, and I like it. Got a bit of coil whine, but that's expected. It's smooth as silk in DCS 2.0, but underutilized in DCS 1.5. I hope that the Caucasus (Normandy, Strait of Hormuz, etc), will be similarly optimized as NTTR when DCS 2.5 comes out.
