Hi,

First, is there a way to hide the pilot's body?

Second, is this module already in the final version or is it still in beta, because the manual seems unfinished?

Thanks

There's no key command to hide the pilot's body (although I'd really like one). You have to uncheck 'show pilot body when available' in the game settings.

F-86 is not beta any more but ya, the manual is unfinished. I was helping a bit with the English manual (proof reading) but I haven't gotten feedback for a while so I've stopped for the time being.

Mmm... It looks like beta in some aspects...

No sound of gear retraction; no key for toggling pilot bofy on and off; manual incomplete... I'll tell more even I find.

Another thing I found, was the missing take off or taxi light, only one lights up, is there a way to turn both ON?

Also there is a winning sound, after flying for a while, does anyone knows what is it?

That's not a bug, it's correct behaviour if you're talking about being on the ground.

Left light is taxi light, right light is landing light. If there is weight on the wheels, right light is off. Both are only on when airborne.

Page 197 in the manual.

Cool! Thanks, then there is a bug with AI. Because they have both ON on the ground.

Sorry, but as soon as I saw the manual incomplete and with errors, I stopped reading it. If this isn't beta shouldn't the manual be finished? Either that or they launched an incomplete product.

Sorry, but I feel that too much of Belsmtek's modules are incomplete even though they are announced as released, like the F-86F...

Also, the six 12,7 mm guns feel under powered, did they really shot a lot of Migs with those? I can't do any damage on the Mig-15s... :D

Thanks for your reply, I just feel this module should get a little more attention. Everyone turned their heads for the F-5, hope they get back and finish the other modules.

Although I'd like to see the polished manual as well, the current version, apart form a few not up to date instrument photos and some less than perfect translations here and there, is complete and good enough to understand and learn all the systems.

Fair enough, but it is this feeling of not caring enough. It seems unprofessional, IMHO. As a proffessional, I could never send a document with this kind of WIP stuff on it and call it finished.

Ditto! To reinforce this idea, if I told my superiors that a product is finished with incomplete manuals, they would look at me and joke, last thing would be unemployment.

Specially in the aviation industrie, where pilots need to have their manuals finished. Eheh!

But, seriously, they should finish the module.

Like the person above said, it's unprofessional. It's a lack of quality insurance.

Hope they fix it as well as finish earlier modules before committing to new ones.

I must have gotten an incomplete one then. It just stops at Page 161. Abruptly. Plus there are a lot of notes about fixing one thing or another, things that aren't in the module but are referenced in a photo, etc. I'm not wanting to nit pick those items because my main objective isn't to have the manual highly polished but to have it useful. More than anything I was just disappointed that the major systems that I want to learn to use seem to be past page 161. I also found the manual hard to find. I believe I downloaded it from a forum post here after I looked on the DCS site and the Belsimtek site (but couldn't find any downloads for the F86 on either site).

Gryphon, you shouldn't need to download anything. Check in your DCS World/mods/aircraft/F86/docs.

I've got an English manual in there that's over 300 pages. I'm running DCS 1.5 though that shouldn't make a difference.

I find even on Ai MiGs and player MiGs you have to aim right for the wing roots as that is the least structurally sound part of the airframe, you may shoot up the engines and take out some avionics when aimimng at the fuselage but it will keep fighting. One good burst at the wing i find takes care of the bugger. I fly the MiG more however so I'm constantly jinking in the merge to prevent this.

Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. If you don't, sooner or later, some guy who does use them all will kick your ass.

Just my input (for what it's worth). I fly with no pilot and I also go into the settings and remove the stick. It is directly in front of the bubble. I hate to keep trying to look around it.

Actually you are incorrect - there IS a key command to remove the pilot from any cockpit.

R-Shift P will toggle the pilot in and out of the cockpit of the F-86F.

Yes, but that only became functional in the Sabre with 1.5.4

Thank you for the heads up. Good to know that it was implemented.

Good call. I usually download one so I can look at it during my lunches at work or when I'm on the road. At home I can use the one in my docs. Thanks.

EDIT: I guess I could just copy it to a flash drive and take it to work. LOL.
